That was an amazing fight. Hope they have a rematch, it's the very least Alexander deserved. Stamina let him down IMO, Jones was there for the taking a few times (as was he tbf!).

You'll be fine- but forget everything you know about your bottom half. You'll be too easy to take down if you try pure boxing.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostGoing for an MMA taster session tomorrow

Nervous man! Ive boxed a little bit in the past but im worried im gonna dislocate a shoulder or somat.
If always found that MMA gyms are generally really nice, friendly places- more so than any other martial arts gyms i've been to.
Also, if itd your first lesson, they wont be smashing you

Nothing event wise, had a couple of 4 and 5 round sparring sessions but nothing major past that.Originally posted by spud_gun View Postlet us know how you get on.
Did you have any amateur fights when boxing?
It wasn't too bad actuallyOriginally posted by Chazza View PostHow did it go then?

The amount of exercise was a shock to my system and the beer certainly caught up on me, drinking half a powerade before going thinking ill be ok wasn't clever
Did a bit of kickboxing which i was pretty comfortable with, although i have absolutely no flexibility in my right leg at all, which led to some quite poor efforts at kicking
Took a wayward knee to the face when doing some ground stuff too which wasn't fun haha.
Still ache a bit now too!The times they are a changin'.

Yep, looking forward to this although will be recording it rather than watching it live. Potentially a couple if cracking fights.Originally posted by Alex View PostCormier v Nelson and JDS v Velasquez tonight. Should be a good couple of fights.
Especially The Velsasquez fight. Either one will become a bit of a UFC legend when they win. Pretty epic rivalry. Shame that boxing hasn't got a story like this in boxing."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
