    Handball is wicked game btw.

My parents have always got it on at home (via the miracle of satellite television).
    Oh I don't know.

I think marsh's point is quite simple, most sports only have public funding, but cycling benefits hugely from private funding too and therefore the table makes cycling look more cost effective than it actually is. Who really cares though, all that matters is that it has been a terrific games.

Cycling isn't the only one that benefits from private funding. In fact, they all do. And it hasn't had much private funding until recently, after the Beijing success.

Perhaps we should include the benefit rowing got from the fact that Eton let LOCOG use their private lake (f*cking unbelievable they have a lake but that's another issue). Or that the shooting gold medallist was subsidised by someone from Dubai.

CJ's 'point' is an example not just of consistent tripe but also worthless nitpicking. The point of the table was to compare public subsidy with medal tallies. Nothing more and nothing less. Instead he starts carping about how it doesn't show everything and that people are silly for drawing any conclusions. FFS, it's not like that would matter anyway - we're not making funding decisions here.

                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

you dont half talk **** dog

perhaps its because your nose spends rather a long time shoved in it.

it was a simple point from which you go off on one about cycling and accusing people of doing things they havent.

but we see this time and time again when people dont always fully back Neil

Richey and chester dave being two obvious recent examples.

well all i was saying is that the table is a bit misleading and drawing the conclusions that some will is a bit wrong

it wasnt an attack on cycling or anything else.

it was a very simple comment that a certain someone seems to want to have a go at me.

i wasnt nitpicking at cycling or at neil or anything. i have seen lots of tables on here and said sometimes you shouldnt draw the conclusions that people do no one goes off on one aboutit beingme attacking something or anything like that.

i happen to deal with tables of data all day and usually people draw some strange conclusions from things so you generally have to caveat it and then point out that you shouldnt draw that conclusion from it.

for some reason someone wants to to accuse me of things that arent true and that is what I am reacting too.
