Name your top 5 sports/events to watch on TV

i love sports, thankfully so do my flat mates - we watch a lot of sport and there is so much sport on tv and we had a conversation in the pub the other day about what are favourite sports are to watch on tv...

there were some obvious and some different ones and different reasons why.....for example one lad picked the Superbowl - which i thought is strange because he doesn't watch any other NFL at all....but he had superbowl in his top 3, despite watching other sports more regularly

    Here are mine....

    1. Football - easy pick, i love football, i watch it more than anything on TV, not just liverpool games, i will watch all the televised premier league games, most of the spanish games on sky, champions league/europa games, the odd lower game thats on tele, the lfc channel, MOTD, goals on sunday etc etc

    2. Cricket - well this is where the debate comes into it a bit - i'll watch all england international cricket be it 20/20, ODI or Test - i think cricket on sky has the best commentary and pundit team of any sport and with england being good and the sheer amount of cricket and exposure it's getting i've become pretty into it.....however unlike football where i'll watch anything....I don't watch very much county cricket at all.

    3. Golf - even though i prefer golf over cricket to play and i would consider myself a 'golfer' - other than the four majors and the ryder cup i don't think i watch any golf...however the ryder cup especially is brilliant tv

    4. Boxing - I'll watch a fair bit of boxing, be it prizefighter all the way up to a top world title fight....though boxing doesn't finish higher up because of pay per view issues and 4am starts.

    5. Rugby Union - just pips rugby league....i find domestic union ****ing painful to watch where as i don't mind super league - however i do enjoy international rugby union more than super league.

quite a lot missed out though - darts, athletics, tennis, formula 1, ufc, superbikes, horseracing.....

    What about you?
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

      Football

Then in no particular order as I couldn't rank them

      Cricket
      Golf
      Tennis
      Boxing

Horse racing is a great sport but not the same if you're not punting on it, and I like the biggies in athletics such as the 100m and the big darts events. Everything else like F1 , egg chasing, cycling etc is all wank.

        1. football - self explanitory really . . . love football!!!
        2. golf - started playing when i was 6 and havent stopped since. wtach as much as i can unless theres a football game on. majors, european tours, us tours, even womens golf.
        3. boxing - loved watching de la hoya and was brought up in the mike tyson / joe calzaghe era when boxing was at its peak IMO. been to a few UK and commonwealth bouts in scotland but prefer to watch the big fight nights.
        4. tennis - played on and off when younger at hamilton tennis club. loved the game but was never the best. used to love watching agassi when younger and still amazed by nadal / federer. womans tennis always good for a longer rally and a bit of a perv
        5. beach volleyball - womens beach volleyball great for ripping the nut off it!!!

alternative number 5. bmx / trailbikes - just amazing what they can do with tricks etc... on a bike. into other sports like snowboarding etc.. but bikes just has that element of danger to it i like.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

            Boxing
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
