If you read my defination, it says sport requires skill and/or a level of fitness - so a sport could require skill....it could require a level of fitness or it could require a bit of both

so the other end of the skill vs fitness arguement could be say the 100m......Loads of fitness yeah, but as per Darkon's arguement of "golf is just like walking through a forest" - running is just running as fast as you can, some people just happen to be faster than others and their is no skill* involved - but it's still a sport - so darts may have the least required fitness levels of sport, but it has a very high skill level arguably higher than running.

    * before some pedantic ******* comes in - yes i know running is very scientific and therefore 'skillful' - i was just using it as random example to show why darkon's claim that golf is not a sport is just absurd you could argue any sport is just a 'game' if you wanted to.

board games though require zero physical activity!!!! ZERO - even darts requires some!

plus the majority of board games need luck......doesn't matter how many ****ing times you practice rolling the dice you will still end up in 'jail'

So does performing open heart surgery or writing an opera. They're not sports though. Maybe if enough bearded fat people took them up and we all sat around behind them drinking and jumping around to The Kaiser Chiefs, Sky might show an interest and they would be legitimised.

in fact thinking about it....it's an impossible task to make difference between a game and a sport....

            the dictionaries defination of game
game1    /geɪm/ Show Spelled [geym] Show IPA noun, adjective, gam·er, gam·est, verb, gamed, gam·ing.
            noun
            1. an amusement or pastime: children's games.
            2. the material or equipment used in playing certain games: a store selling toys and games.

            3. a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators.

            4. a single occasion of such an activity, or a definite portion of one: the final game of the season; a rubber of three games at bridge.

            5. the number of points required to win a game

            Therefore ALL sports are games.....

hmm...i don't know? is there a competitive twister league? is there a Twister world champion? do people practice twister to get better at it? - or is it all just relying on pure luck of getting the right move.

                  Dictionary definition of sport -

Noun: An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.

Therefore all games are not sports, especially not darts.

Anyone who thinks playing four rounds of golf in four days across a championship course against the best hundred and forty players in the world isn't physically challenging obviously plays golf like they debate.

Does that mean I can post pictures of William Perry, George Foreman, Shane Warne, and Ronaldo, and start knocking other sports off the list too?
