He came through it though and finished in style.
Just hope we don't get fights against bums just for box office.

Great having a fight when you didn't know the winner beforehand.

For the record I made it home at 21.55, just in time for the fight

I had to forego my dessert & any chance of a blow job that I had in exchange for getting back on time!

Well ****ing worth it! What a fight that was. Absolutely brilliant!

Was just having a look at who the mandatory challengers are for his main belts.

Pulev ( who holds the WBA Inter-Continental belt) is now the mandatory challenger for the IBF belt after he won on Friday. So that means one of three things. Joshua takes that fight, Joshua's team pay Pulev a step aside fee, or the IBF strips Joshua of the belt.

The WBA mandatory is Ortiz (he was also the IBF mandatory a few months back when he was signed to Eddie Hearn but since leaving Hearn he lost that funnily enough ) but I think he still has a hand injury plus the WBA will probably be very happy with the likes of Joshua being the holder of their Super title (they often have a super champion and a regular champion at the same time) so don't think they will threaten to strip Joshua for not going in with the mandatory if there is a sniff of more money being made instead.

Have a feeling we will see Joshua in with Pulev if Wlad does not take the rematch. Would then expect to see Pulev being pushed as a tough dangerous opponent when the truth is that he should be out of there within five rounds versus Joshua imo.

Pulev is not a top level guy or even close, and is probably one of the better mid card guys at best. He would very much be a ko waiting to happen for Joshua

I said sometime ago that Joshua was the best heavyweight around and got vilified by a few posters on this thread for saying that

Still say hes the best around

Oh for a Bowe-Holyfield rivalry now. Nearly 25 years already since the first in that series.

The issue was that prior to Saturday Joshua didn't have a defining fight. He was gifted his 'World title' and was taken into deep water against a British level fighter in Dillon Whyte.

To proclaim him the best heavy on such a small body of work was a little premature.

Saturday was his defining fight. Few if any will argue that he's the best active heavy out there.

I think that's fair, his career as a pro fighter is still very short in terms of actual fights but to win a version of the Word Title in only his sixteent fight is quite impressive albeit against a poor champion.

His fight vs Wlad was impressive mainly due to his ability to come back from being badly hurt in the fifth where he was a bit naive and the knock down in the sixth where he got hit with a big shot from Wlad.

Hopefully Fury can get himself together and get his license back as that's a fight everyone wants to see.

And if you think about it. The second teir guys back then were the likes of Donovan Ruddock (used his first name instead of his nickname. Did not want anyone to think I meant our fat ex centre back).
