Roach: CBS CEO Said He Can Deliver Floyd Mayweather
By Edward Chaykovsky
Trainer Freddie Roach feels good about the possibility of a 2015 mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Last Saturday night in Macau, Roach led Pacquiao to a six knockdown lopsided decision win over previously undefeated Chris Algieri. Mayweather was last seen in the ring in September, when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Marcos Maidana.
Roach was present during a meeting between Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, and CBS CEO Les Moonves. CBS is the parent company of Showtime, who have Mayweather under an exclusive agreement until the end of 2015.
Moonves, consider to be one of the most powerful business men in the world, told Arum and Roach that he was capable of securing Mayweather for a Pacquaio fight.
"I was there," Roach told the Los Angeles Daily News. "I was the the third party. I just listened a lot. But they spoke about what they could do and how to make the fight happen. Moonves said he can deliver Mayweather, and, obviously, Bob said he could deliver Pacquiao.
"It was a very good meeting. What they said in that meeting, if they can do it, the fight will happen. Very soon. I think next. Moonves and Bob walked out to Moonves car with their arms around each other. The right people are talking about it. I think that makes it a bigger possibility."

The fights going down innit.
Sam Watson is very close to Al Haymon and Mayweather add to the fact the head of CBS has been in talks with Arum, I'm very optimistic both parties want to make it happen next.

I can't be bothered to find a stream.
I genuinely think Chisora will win. Fury is very average and since Chisora has stopped being a total prick (he still is one but just a lesser one) and has started training seriously. You can see the shape his in is so much better and he's put together a nice run of wins. He's much shorter, but he should be able to grind him down. Fury talks himself up, but he's an average fighter he doesn't have a great deal of power and he relies on his height (even though he doesn't always 'box tall'. He'll get found out sooner or later, Chisora went the distance with Vitali (Helenius and Scott are also big men) and shouldn't have a problem with Fury in terms of size or power.
On Eubank, he hasn't really been tested yet, we won't know how good he is until he's tested. Also to see how his chin stands up to taking a decent shot. If a chin is passed down genetically he'll have no problems passing that test. It's happened before if you consider Chavez Jr, not half the fighter of his old man but he can take punishment just as well if not better.Last edited by Zapater; 29-11-14, 08:35 PM.
