Thanjk you.

Garcia with a really tidy perfromance last night. Has to be regretting not making the weight limit as he would be a world champion now otherwise.
One of the judges was on something though. Garcia put Haney on the floor in three separate rounds whilst generally outboxing him and the judge still scored the fight a draw.
Even with a point deducted, Garcia won that by four or five clear rounds.

Agree but ref did a terrible job by stopping Haney from punching when Garcia was turning his back.
Eventually allowed it saying "they're legal punches" late on presumably after being told that they were indeed legal punches. No **** sherlock.
Can't express how much I detest De La Hoya.

The ref's actions for the turning of the back were weird alright.
Was obvious imo that it was part of the mind games Garcia was employing, he was dropping his hands also to time Haney's reactions, but in boxing you have a duty to defend yourself and if you give the other guy a clear shot that is on you and not for the ref to decide that you being careless is something he has to compensate for.
Ref has a duty of care of course, but that has limits too. If he thought the back truning was an issue he had the option to warn Garcia and deduct a point or if he thought there was a genuine threat to health being posed he could have stopped the fight.
I actually think that Garcia's mind games and the way the media bought into them pre fight played a part in what the ref was doing.
Garcia is a prick but he played a lot of people like fiddles in the build to this fight. One look at him at the weigh ins and the footage of him in training should have told people he was making a lot of noise to gain advantage.
I would go as far as to say that him not making the weight was on purpose too as Haney then thought, imo of course, he saw a chance of being put in with an out of shape, physically and mentally, opponent and he was quick to want it when he thought that was on the cards.
Plus Haney chased the money when the bait was laid prior to the fight regarding being over the limit. Garcia said he would pay for every lbs he was over the limit and Haney accepted.
Garcia's body looked tight and hydrated at the weigh in, and looked very much like a guy hitting peak at the right time.
Curious to see if he looks to try and go after Davies again or if he takes up Haney's offer of a rematch.
He tries to get another bout with Davies or Wahid as is his name now, and I expect less by way of mindgames as that would only focus Wahid and nobody wants to be in the ring with a pissed off Wahid.
Think someone like Wahid who has a track record of being a scumbag would be less affected by the same mindgames

Nery lasted longer than I thought he would, though the difference between a genuine world class fight and a good one was very stark throughout.
Being knocked down for the first time in his career seemed to really piss Inoue off and he was just devastating from that moment in the opening round right through to him finishing it in the sixth.
Beautiful fighter to watch though. Fantastic mix of delicate skill and raw brutality. His nickname is very appropriate and well earned at this point.
Pound for pound rankings have to be Crawford, Inoue and then a big gap down to the rest of the top ten.
Maybe Bivol, Davis and Beterbiev making up the next three in the top five. My top five of course, not whatever the published one is right now.
Guys like Canelo can eff off out of the P4P ranking for me now as he cherry picks far more than he needs to with his talent, plus piss that glows in the dark I reckon.

Think it will be a lot closer than I thought a few months back. I think Usyk will be happy for Fury to come to him where he can use his foot skills to change angles and disrupt Fury with his counter punches. We know he is a high volume puncher so Fury will need to adapt to this.
For me Fury should box off the back foot and keep the fight at long range. Use the jab and pivot. It might be a borefest but there is no need for him to take the fight to Usyk from the offset and walk him down as I think that is what Usyk prefers his opponents to do. If Fury can control the outside/distance with his jab and make it difficult for Usyk to get in range, he will win the fight. Easier said than done though.
