He was brilliant tactically today. I want to see how much he can improve.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He needs to improve on his time trialling, which means he'll have to build more strength which may diminish his climbing ability.

Very interesting to see how he progresses and most importantly maybe, who can coach him to get there.

Really impressive ride from him yesterday, 2nd in the GC, the KOTM and the white jersey in his first effort.

Great effort these 3 weeks from team Sky.

First tour I have properly followed and it's been really enjoyable. I thought it'd be boring. But it's essentially Cricket on two wheels. An individual team sport, with battles all throughout.

              Great fun

Managed to follow the last week and it has been great. Reminded me when I used to watch it all the time with my dad when I was a teenager.

Reckon Cavendish will be all out to win this tonight.

Paris is a wonderful city despite its flaws.

Think the comparison stands up. A sport that ultimately is down to the individual, but to win you need your team to support you. Daily battles on the stages, same as a batsman/bowler tussle.

                  Thinking mans sport too

It's indeed a complex sport, ask Shaggy.

Great seeing them finish so late in the evening. Apparently the celebrations will be great tonight to mark the 100th Tour.

Don't they normally let the Yellow jersey win the last stage?

                      Comment

Nope, the yellow jersey just cruises in the pack and lets the sprinters go on and try and win it i.e. Mark Cavendish

Ah. I thought that it was just a parade and the leader was offered over the win

No, the tradition is that they don't normally attack him IF the gap is big as it is now, so the race's emphasis is on the stage winner which is normally reserved for sprinters or all rounders. Though there have been times when the race had to be decided on the last stage - remember the Fignon and Lemond rivalry at the time, when Lemond beat Fignon on the Champs Elysee.

Millar is riding a great race at the moment. Though he's unlikely to cling on to his lead.

                              What a fantastic sprint.

This has been a great Tour.
