What a day. We were sensational first half and solid second half.

From what I saw we were by miles the beat team and th deserved winners. Up front, at the breakdown, and through the backs.

We don't beat them often, so it was pretty sweet.

I bought 2 pints pre match. Finished them both and we were barely ten minutes into the game. 2 bottles at half time, same into the second half.

The atmosphere at the end was just superb, the realisation with about 5-10 mins to go that we were probably going to win. Random folk hugging each other.

At half time most people just looked in a bit off shock at 22-6.

Good times.

Have rewatched the game, and Guscotts pre match comments about Finn Russell were a disgrace. Good to see Finn shrug off all the bad press and put ina MotM performance, though Huw Jones, John Barclay, Jonny Gray and Hamish Watson were all on MotM form.

He was intimating that he thought Russell would get worse and worse. I think he ate a fair bit of humble pie at full time. Martin Johnson was far classier.

Outrageous isn’t it. He played another beauty at the end of the move and we scored a try.

The great thing about Finn is that on the back of all the criticism you might have expected him to reign it in a bit. If anything he went the other way and tried even more inventive passing.

Hogg took over kicking to touch and Laidlaw was on pens meaning Russell just had to focus on his game.
