Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Oh I agree. 180 regardless of whether he got dropped is still a great achievement. But think they have rushed him personally. It's a fine line. A run of failures could knock the confidence big time. He'll be tested out in Australia tooOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostHe sure has but you can't disregard 180 in an Ashes Test, especially at his age. He was dropped but that doesn't matter, he finished with 180. I wonder though when it'll become an issue for the selectors.

180, took a few wickets bowling, been good in the field and made some good catches
22 years old and a pretty decent ashes to be fair and he's only going to get better
i would however consider 'resting' him after this test, especially if we've wrapped up the win - let him go and have a bat at county to get some runs under his belt and give someone else a go for the last two ashes testsi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

The batting cover for Oz is an interesting one.
I guess Taylor get's in to cover the middle order but does Compton get the nod higher up the order? I would have liked to have seen Carberry get in amongst it but given his age and the fact he pretty much said in an interview a couple of days ago that his face doesn't fit it seems unlikely.

Carberry is immense, seen him on TV a couple of times this summer and he's scored big runs both times. His last dozen knocks in all forms is pretty ****ing good.Originally posted by Chazza View PostThe batting cover for Oz is an interesting one.
