So we could be facing a batting line up something like this on the winter tour.

Rodgers - 35, a decent grafter but probably got one more Ashes series in him
Warner - Aggressive opener who can score quick but prone to a dodgy shot
    New No3.
Clarke - Their best batsman but looks like the weight of carrying the order is getting to him
    New No.5
    Watson - Walking LBW
Haddin - Not had the best series and seems to struggle against Swann.

Think Clarke needs to come in at 3 or 4. He seems to be hiding lower down the order. Then we the rest get out for nothing, the pressure is all on him. He could help the others immensely by getting a big score early on I think.
      *Except Michael, who died.

So you think he should either come in at 3 or where he actually does come in and certainly he should not come in lower down the order like where he doesn't bat at the moment.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I thought he was coming in at 5 or 6. I stand corrected. Still think he needs to come in sooner though.

I think 4 is fine for him. The pressure comes not because he comes in at 4 rather than 3 but because none of the others, except probably Rogers, is really good enough. If he was higher in the order then the pressure would still be on him because he knows if he doesn't score, the innings is in trouble.

And he'd have to face a newer ball...although not much newer usually.

                WOMEN'S ASHES
From BBC Sport's Stephan Shemilt at Wormsley:

"The rain has relented, allowing Laura Marsh to complete a half-century, the slowest fifty in women's Test history. Just the 291 balls. England are 299-8, 32 behind Australia."

"Laura Marsh's long vigil is over, bowled playing across the line to Megan Schutt for 55. Her record-breaking knock spanned 343 minutes and 305 balls, containing only three fours. England are 304-9, 27 behind."

Only a 4 day test. Sounds like she did well to pull them up to that score.

Bresnan ruled out for the rest of the summer. I would guess Tremlett will get the call up on his home track.

                          Put this in here.

                          GAA launch Hawkeye probe.

The GAA has launched an investigation into the Hawkeye failure at Croke Park today - but expects the technology to be in use for next Sunday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final

A statement by the GAA read: 'Following an inconsistency in the generation of a graphic by Hawkeye during today's minor hurling semi-final, the decision was taken to suspend use of the score detection system for the senior game.

'A full review of the technology, in conjunction with Hawkeye, commenced this evening and its finding will be examined by the GAA tomorrow.

'It is expected that Hawkeye will be in full working order for next Sunday's minor and senior football semi-finals'. - See more at: http://www.hoganstand.com/ArticleFor....gswdS4OG.dpuf

feels like a huge gap between the fourth and the fifth test
