It was great. First time I've done any kind of organised race and it was fascinating to see all the different people taking part, the different approaches they took (including a rather irritating couple who stopped at every mile marker to take a joint selfie and do some showy display of stretching).

I came in at 2:12:56 which I'm pretty pleased with. I'm definitely not a 'runner' and could never have built up to running that far without the motivation this thread provides.

Good to get it under my belt and definitely think I have a faster time in me. Bath half booked in for March

Oh and I got overtaken by a man in a full chicken costume which is never great for the confidence. But i beat the guy from work by 3 mins

My first 3 GNRs the same bloke in a zebra costume went past me in the final straight. I'd be chugging along uncomfortably thinking I was almost home and then out of nowhere Mr Zebra would bust past. Haven't seen the ****er since I started running sub 1:35s though
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Did 10.2km last night with Wiw, as he said, felt good and could have kept it up longer but the missus was waiting with my dinner so had to get home!

When I did the London Marathon this year I got overtaken by all sorts in costumes! My favourite being the Ultimate Warrior who was just running getting the crowd worked up all the way along!

Does anyone get kept awake at night by aches in their legs? Fine during the day, but when I go to bed they start to ache.

It happens to me loads and it drives me crazy. It's not even just limited to the night after a run, sometimes it happens when I haven't ran for a couple of days

I do get 'jumpy' legs when I am really tired, but I wouldn't say it keeps me up at night, but due to the fact of playing football and basketball every week for the last 15 years of my life, my body aches pretty much every day, and getting up in the morning after doing a long run now is always hard!

I have had a constant niggle in my right knee, which i think was originally a ligament tear, that I haven't let heal properly so that is what gives me the most grief!

Another 7km in the bank. The best month since April for me.

I'm starting to feel it though, I think getting over a 100km a month regularly would push my body to the limit.

I've surpassed 600km for the year now too. My aim was 800km+ so that leaves me needing about 65km each month from now on. It's definitely doable but there's not much leeway for injury, holidays etc.

All the ****ing time. I feel cheated. I thought running would help me sleep better. I only tend to get it the day of the run, but it happens even if run first thing in the morning.
