i usually have wholemeal brown toast with some light butter type spread [30% fat], and a smear of jam for brekkie, but this morning i had a large bowl of oat/meusli [pre-mixed by me] and pinged in the micro, so its like a posh porridge. slurp.
    keeps you filled for ages.

Hows everyone sticking to this app? Im finding it pretty easy again to slip back into the routine of logging what I eat. Not really gone hungry either. Just found stuff that's less calories.

Is it a good idea to cut out things like Pasta and Potatoes? Because I seem to be eating alot of Carbs during the day.

Depends on your level of excerise really mate. If you're doing plenty then pasta and potatoes are fine.

If not then I wouldn't eat them after lunchtime if you're looking to lose weight.

Swap normal pasta and baking potatoes for wholewheat pasta and sweet potatoes.

Tend to have Sweet Potatoes more anyway as they taste better. But the pasta thing is a pain. I like it for lunch at work during the day. Whole wheat tastes like wood sometimes.

Your right Baitman, me and the Mrs need to cut out the white stodge too. We made a dinner the other day and it was White and Gold in colour. That cant have been healthy, it was one of the reasons that sparked us back to doing it again.

Just a little pointer and I don't mean to sound patronising.

You know that you're meant to cook wholewheat pasta longer than you cook white pasta? Sounds silly but most people who think it tastes **** aren't cooking it for long enough.

              Hmm, that does sound patronising.

Sweet potatoes are fine too. Carry on with that.

Yea I know about the Wholewheat thing. I just need to load it with sauce and other flavors to get it to taste alright. Defeats the point then. Spinach pasta is nice. **** knows if its good for you though.

                  Perfectly fine for you.

And if you make your own sauce then it's a heck of a lot more healthier than buying the stuff in jars. Sounds like you're doing alright mate, just keep on doing what you're doing.

Yea, im getting there. Its just a complete change in attitude. I did it before as I said for about 10 months, then my life went totally mental back end of last year and it all went to bollocks.

Think I worked out I put on 4st in 6 months. Its terrible. All that good work gone.

not sure if this works with pasta but instead of just water use some stock when boiling it as well and herbs etc to add some flavour.

It's really easy isn't it once you get the first few weeks out of the way. Great feeling going to bed at night knowing you haven't chucked a load of junk down your throat.

Another good one for low fat / high carbs is something like homemade chilli chicken with cucumber and cottage cheese. Next to no fat and tonnes of protein - get a plate of that down you after a workout and you'll be laughing.

I can't help with the spoiler thing though man. That's upset me.

Day 1 went ok for me.

It's easy to make myself something healthy for breakfast and lunch but my Missus' Mum always cooks tea and as she's not watching what she eats, she just cooks whatever she wants.

Last night wasn't TOO bad, as it was a roast chicken breast with peas and sweetcorn. It was the mash, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and gravy that put it over the edge. Might have to start cooking my own tea!

I got a good hour in on the Kinect though so that'll help.

No harm having a bit of everything, just use a smaller plate and take smaller sizes of food.

                            You'll drive yourself insane otherwise.

I was thinking that. Better portion control

I'll just plate it up myself!

I'm not trying to change my lifestyle TOO much, I just realise that I need to be taking a bit better care of myself seeing as I'm the heaviest I've ever been!

Don't believe this 'Ideal Weight' bollocks though, the other day I read that for my height I should be around 11st...my bones weigh more than that!

My limit (with my target of losing 2lbs a week) is 1200 calories. Went over it on the first day, and was pretty much bang on yesterday. Only got 200 or so left today so that's me ****ed
