I use runkeeper free version and it does everything I need when combined with my bluetooth heart rate monitor. I like to listen to music when I run so using the phone was a must (and I don't want to spend another £200 on a watch that doesn't do anything more)

That's the other thing. I spent years running with an Ipod. Since ditching the music I've found that my times have got (a bit) better. No idea if there is a logical explanation or whether its just a huge coincidence.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I don't use it on my phone, just to manually add a map when I get back to find out how much climbing I've done.

I then enter that data plus speed and distance etc. on a spreadsheet.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I've been running a bit better with music. I think it helps not hearing my breathing so much and also getting a rhythm

I started doing an intensive workout, Focus T25. 25 minutes per day, non stop.
****ing killed me first week, 2nd week much better, then had 2 weeks off work so didn't do anymore! Went back to it this week and feel worse than on day 1

From reading this thread, you lot must be as thin as rakes! (Robokop aside)

                          I'm half a stone heavier.

Have you beefed up, as in, doing muscle work? If so, I think Robokop might be a bad example to follow.

No, sadly I've larded up. Besides I'm already as developed as RK, probably more so, given my height and hair.

A friend of mine once told me of her theory of fat circles. Whenever one of her friends loses weight, there's always another in the same circle who has put it on.

Bloody Norbs. He needs to bulk back up.

Probably a natural progression (or regression) after being rigorous for a couple of months, what with your bike ride.
