Reverse Pyramids (3 sets of one exercise with the highest weight/lowest reps first, dropping the weight by no more than 15% and increasing the reps with little or no rest) have been absolutely brilliant for me!

I'm starting simple by doing 12 core body exercises every other day. I want to be stronger on the bike after eating far too much crap for the last 5 months and not riding my bike once.
Plus I want a new mountain bike to take advantage of the masses of new trails built near me! I'm a bit of a fat ******* now and even my 3.5 year old can lap me in the pool (then again he's a pretty talented swimmer). Was muß, das muß.

90 mins of cardio is a huge waste of effort unless you're trying to improve your running/cycling/swimming or whatever cardio you're planning on doingOriginally posted by Darth Marty View PostI went to Vegas in October & ever since then I have pigged out with little or no exercise. I went from 15st (which was all 6'2 of me looking good, albeit with room for improvement) to 16.6st when weighed yesterday!!!! ****.
Plus in the middle of that massive pig out I hurt my l5s1 disk again.
That was pretty much the incentive I needed to hit the exercise/healthy eating again so from today I do 90 mins cardio, 30 mins strength 6 days from 7 until I hit 14st dead.
Should be sometime around end of March I reckon.
The early morning session this morning, which was also my forst day back in after Xmas, nearly killed me!
Just finished the evening one now & feel pretty good!
Its so easy to fall into bad habits again!
Manage your diet to strip fat, lift weights to build muscles
Cardio is good for the heart and there is some truth to the calories in / out theory in that the more you burn, the less fat you store; but the effort to burn those calories with cardio outstrips the benefits
IMO
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I had no choice cardio wise due to a no impact exercise restriction I have on myself....dodgy hip. I see weights and eating better as how I will reach my goal.
Cheers

Don't worry, we won't judge you if you're that way inclined. It is the 21st century after all.Originally posted by Darth Marty View PostI hate weights, I can do cardio & have had great results doing this in the past, so its what I am going to do again.
I probably would achieve better results, quicker, if I followed your advice but Id be setting myself up to fail as weights just dont do it for me.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I've started making food for work in batches of 10. 5 for me and 5 for the Mrs. It works out pretty economical, especially given my local butcher lets me have chicken breast for £5 per Kg.
This week I have a pot that is 1/3 Brown Rice with Spicy seasoning, 1/3 Mixed Boiled veg and the last 1/3 Chicken breast. Works out at about 95p per meal. Pretty decent sized too.
I was getting cans out soup for about £1.50 and these are infinitely more interesting and less packed with Salt.*Except Michael, who died.

Good stuff for finishing it.Originally posted by Alex View PostYeah I finished. But then stopped straight away. Sprained my ankle and the nights were drawing in. Then just lost the motivation. Shame really. I wanna get back to it though.
Time to get back on it though Alex!
I'll be checking your Endomondo
