Nice 13 and a half miler that I reckon was probably 5% running and 95% getting ****ed by headwinds. Some brutal hills in there too just for kicks. 7:38/ mile pace
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

            Ohhh dear!

On more positive news. I am now confident I can run a full 5k without stopping now. Which is something I couldn't do at the start of the year.

Also feel like I am faster and have more stamina than I did last time I tried this. I actually enjoyed finishing my run today.

Nice one keep it up! You keeping an eye on times, pretty rewarding to seeing them go down but don't get obsessed with them.

Not really at the moment. I track things to see where abouts I am, but because its couch to 5k, the runs are always different.

As I have mentioned before, my ultimate aim is to do 5k in 25 minutes. It seems way off at the moment. But its something to strive for.

The thought of running for a couple of hours fills me with dread.

You can't beat a good GPS obsession.

You can definitely beat the running trots though. Feel your pain mate. Always carry a quid with me now in case I need to dive into a pay toilet after a near shave. I run roads! If I need to let fly its going to have to be in someone's back garden!

Another bit of an update for me. Finding I'm getting happy with the results for my upper body. Now I'm going to concentrate on my lower area like Abs, Obliques and perhaps a bit more on the legs and calf areas.

Not really going to work much more on the upper body as I don't want to be too big but if I do anything more it'll be arms and forearms and leave shoulders for a while. Actually finding shoulders are a lot more developed than other parts so Going to give them a bit of a break.

Here's week 15 as of last Friday and week 1 for comparison. Pretty happy thus far

                          Cheers

I'm back out tonight - probably try for around the 8km mark. Looks like I'm going to hit 80km for the month which isn't so bad.

Really good going that Rich. I know we were both aiming for 100km, but 80km is a great month's running for normal plodders like ourselves

I'm finally back running again now, but the chest infection is still hanging around. I'm feeling slightly wheezy at the end of my run and my recovery after is slower than it was pre-illness

Anyway another 7km done just now. Looks like I will end up on about 55km this month:

You're doing really well Alex, keep it up. Please don't stop when you reach the 5km this time. You've built up a decent base fitness now over the winter so if you can keep the rhythm going you should be able to get yourself in good shape when the better weather comes around!
