Do have one but the **** can I lift my fat arse off the floor!

Nice 12k last night including the 20/18 game with the club. It's a good way of working on negative splits for anyone who fancies race or endurance training. You belt out at a good pace and wherever you reach in 20 minutes you have to get back from in 18. It's even more fun if you do it with people as you get to chase mutha****ers down if you've got further out than they have. Awesome fun
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

went to footy last night and all that on top of a 5 hour drive meant i literally wobbled around for an hour

so really need/want a healthy eating weekend with a good bit of exercise

more importantly slinks - how did you feel later on in the evening - say 8pm once you've recovered, showered and sitting down - did you feel better mentally as well as a bit fresher?

Felt ok you know bud, quite refreshed actually and slept very well - probably the best sleep I've had in some time.

I'm not going to go fur a run tonight to give my muscles a rest but I will be at some point tomorrow definitely. Need to get in the hang of going every other day if I can.

What you've advised is a great help as it means I'm having to get passed that mental block which has/is preventing me from wanting to go for a run. If I don't I'm only running like once a week which is not helping me at all especially as I want to get a race under my belt this year. I know I have to do more and push myself and only I can do that.

Myself and a couple of lads in work are keen to do the Conwy half marathon in November however they've both recently joined the gym so their preference is to go there after work rather than a run and one isn't keen on long distance running either but I'm going to start building my running up now in preparation for it.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Well done Slinks. Sensible to give it a rest if your muscles are sore. Try and get into a little rhythm now, make a habit of it and you'll be sorted. Sign up for that Half Marathon too. Knowing you've got that looming over you can be a great incentive.

10km in 54 minutes. It might not be much by Rowan's standards , but I'm really pleased with that. Fastest I've ran that distance in a long time and it involves a steep 3km 100m hill in it too, so it wasn't exactly a fast route.

It's a decent pace, Pabs. Anything around the 50 minute marker is a good clip.

My last 10k was 40:06. Absolutely gutted. Was so close to sub 40 that any enjoyment from the time was just killed off. 5k is down to 19:30 so I must have totally ****ed up the 2nd half.

It's a good time for me, in my current condition. Run your own race and all that.

I would like to get down to 50 minutes though. We'll see, little by little.

Seven ******* seconds, that's gutting Still those are phenomenal times that I could only dream of

Taking my running kit to Derby this weekend, hopefully I can get back out tomorrow afternoon for a longish one. Woeful week for me, dodgy knee and cold. MUST DO BETTER.

I have back & deads today too. And maybe shoulders which I had to miss yesterday as the osteo told me to rest. Either that or squeeze them in tomorrow, am not drinking too much tonight.

Oh oh! Can feel the muscles in my lower back already. Going to be sore tomorrow. It's all good.

Anyone gluten free here? I'm going gluten free for two weeks to see how I feel after. (Reading the Novak Djokovic book).
Has anyone here had any good / bad gluten free protein powder experience?

Ugg, you'll be way ahead of me after that. I'm thinking of sneaking another 10km in on Sunday morning. Especially if the weather forecasts are correct.

Looks like you're having a March like my Feb; disrupted by illness/injury. It happens, and it's frustrating. Get back on it as soon as you're better.

I've actually found the downtime has done me some good. I'm fitter now than I was before I got the chest infection. I think some enforced rest may have been a good thing.

Oh and I fully intend to add to your misery Rich by blitzing 100km this month.

Nice little 5k to end the week on. Currently undecided if I want to speed my times up or increase the distance. Think maybe distance is better at the moment.

Anyway, enjoyed that and now I'm going to relax and have a beer outside before the sun ****s off.
