Decent session. 7 miles including 6 x 400 metre sprint session. Getting the speed up a bit at the minute too
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
Took advantage of the amazing weather to put in my favourite 10 mile route from Tynemouth priory to st Mary's lighthouse and back. Some quick miles, some slightly slower miles. Ave 7:09/miles.
Anyone else been out today?

Just hit the 4 and a bit mile marker, happy with that considering I'd had 4 bottles of real ale and a bottle of red last night!
Most of that 4 miles was uphill as well, massive elevation gain on the Garmin. Up from 199 to 653 on today's run.

A desperately needed 11k last night. Need to go every second day for the rest of the month and plan on throwing in a couple of hours badminton with my wife and maybe one or two interval sessions as well this week. Or maybe none of this will happen.

See, that's what I'm aiming for 3 times a week if I can but you guys in the majority are running much further distances when you go.
Most of you are averaging 10k runs each time you go out. I'm nowhere near that.
I think I'll keep aiming for the 3-4 mile runs this week and come the weekend/next week I'll try and increase to 5-6 miles. Think I might be overdoing it a tad at the moment.

If you're out 3 times a week try 2 x 3 miles runs a week and stick half mile increments on your 1 longer run. Then when you get that one up to 10k start building on one of your 2 shorter runs. Slow and steady is the trick.
