That just reminded me of a mate of mine years ago. 5' 2" ringing wet. He would just go up to girls and say. "Hello have you got any short friends" when the they answered no he would reply "Do you want one" he pulled on a regular basis with these lines

Managed a 10km run to work this morning! first time since April!
Helps that the distance to work is almost exactly 10km

I love running with Gym rats. They go off like rabbits for about 2 miles then they are done. Keep the pace at 7:30s and you'll do some serious mischief with their general swagger

I used to do a lot of 1500m and cross country in school, there were three of us in my year that were exceptional long distance runners (myself included) and I remember on sports day one year a lad in my year decided to do the 1500m and he did exactly what you said above, legged it off and had a massive head start, in the end he didn't even finish the race because he was ****ed ha ha!
