Tonight is the end of week 1 for me for both diet and workouts.

It has been really hard with the food but thanks to my wife who cooked all the stuff I'm eating instead of me, all I had to be concerned about with the workouts

As long as I don't rip the ar$e out of it this weekend I have no workouts to do and can eat less strict until I start it all again on Monday
    Cheers

A 10km in the rain. Soaked. Was good though.

Not necessarily. A lot of trainers recommend LISS as a fasted workout because it generally burns more fat during the workout.

Getting the carbs in after a workout

I was reading that Leo Messi has a four cheese pizza and a Sprite after a match. Then again, he probably ran 11km and is a professional athlete.

            Try carb cycling

I know that, I do still eat enough on fast days, plus the purpose isn't to lose weight, but just to maintain my weight and balance out all the extra calories from the weekends.

If I need to lose weight (like I do now after Christmas), I normally do a quick low carb diet, which I have to accept will also burn the little muscle I have, but that doesn't bother me as I've no desire to be muscular, just well toned with a flat stomach.

Ah ok , presumed you were talking about losing weight as your main goal. Didn't know you were only looking to maintain.

@ MSM - Ideally fasting can help lose weight yes...but it has to be done right. Most think that eating less food (fasting) will work when it won't (starvation mode). Properly done and measured fasting will work I agree. I was being overly generalist there I guess.

In an ideal world, sleeping will take up the fasting part of the day for you and an early morning workout will make the most of not having any food (during the night)
                      Cheers
