Did 5k in 29 mins today. I know that isn't fast at all but it pissed all over my last feeble attempt which was something like 32 minutes. Really made up with it. Only been for a few runs in the last few months but definitely getting back into it

I raced a mountain bike once before when I was 17, I'm 39 now so I don't think I retained any of the fitness I once had (which was very little!).Originally posted by wiw View PostSounds achievable based on your time this year! Have you done races or anything like this before?
I've never done anything competitively before. Was muß, das muß.

'Getting back into it' is the best feeling! You'll question why you didn't start sooner but I think it's the greatest hurdle, well that or saying no to a cold beer...Originally posted by wiw View PostDid 5k in 29 mins today. I've been doing loads of fitness work since I found out I was diabetic. Spinning class at least twice a week, 2-3 visits to the Gym (I am working from the Lounge at my Gym, so easy to fit it in) and various activities with the kids.
I am also taking Tennis lessons! Something I was to shy to do when I was a kid and have always regretted. If I could get a handle on my diet I am sure the weight would be falling off even quicker than it is.
Best I have felt since I was about 16 though! It took the diagnosis of diabetes for me to finally pull my finger out of my lard arse.Modifying post.
