    Stan wins, despite all that.

Big 3 now? Djokovic, Murray and Stan?

Can't really include Nadal or Federer can you?

It was epic from Stan last night to be fair.

3 Slam finals 3 wins. Murray could do well to learn from how Stan copes with Novaks blatant gamesmanship.

How come Wawrinka improved so much aged about 29/30? He's 31 now. Been thereabouts in the top 10 for about 5 years or so but he's a different player now.

I think that he's always had the potential, I just think that the injuries catching up with Djokovic and Nadal, plus Federer being over the hill has helped him.

I know Murray has been traditionally more consistent, but he's definitely profited by this too. It's not overly uncommon for a surprise hero to emerge between the eras or if the best players are going through rougher patches. Even Federer, undeniably a great player, but look he started winning when the likes of Sampras, Agassi etc were done and before Nadal and Djokovic had emerged. He won the majority of the titles against pretty average players. The Roddick's, Safin's and Hewitt's of the world. Huge difference between them and a peak Rafa. He's lost the majority of the finals and semi's against big players over the last 10 years or so.

            Timing counts for a lot.

I've said it before, but I believe (just my opinion), that these elite tennis players are doped up to their eyeballs. They never tire. It's unnatural.

Djokovic literally doesn't sweat. It's mental.

He certainly suffers from "injuries" though

He goes on hot streaks. When he's good he beats everyone in front of him, but he's never maintained that over a whole season. He nearly lost to Dan Evans ffs! Got schooled by Andy a couple of times this year too. I wouldn't put him in the big three. It's the top 2 and the rest now.

It seems unfair that he's got the same number of Grand Slams as Andy because the latter has clearly been the better player.

Can't help but think that if Murray hadn't won the Olympic gold, he would have won the US Open. Murray's 2 gold medals should count as a Slam, but they don't.

                        Agreed.

He looked burnt out in the US. That said you only have to look at how devastated Novak was to realise those Olympic golds cont for a lot. Most likely Andy will have 2 Novak none come the end of their careers. But its the Slams that cement your place in history.

I think next year could be massive for Andy. He should be targeting 2 Slam wins.

Big game Davis cup game for him today v. Delpo, which he is missing his Grandfathers funeral to take part in.

Early break up to Murray 2-0

                          Deplo takes the first set.

Going long in the second. Tight. Some great points though.

                              Murray takes the third set.

                              Somehow, he dug deep there.

4 hours in and we are going to a 5th set.

                                Epic.
