Haha such consistency .... hes a ****ing cunt .. wiether the fans are right to react or not .. running the length of the pitch considering the background is not advisable and he is as bad as the pricks in the crowd kicking off, that and trying to stamp on someones head whilst they are on the ground defenceless is cowardly in the extreme but your right Fair Play .. your kind of guy obviously

Adebayor Goal Celebration

If that was a manc player who moved to us amid animosity we'd have been laughing and lapping it up.
It was a bit out of order yes, but not that bad. I loved Shearers comment on MOTD. The only good thing about it was he broke the record for sprinting 90 yards.
The stamp on the other hand. Well, RVP had just gone in with a tackle which could have done some serious damage if he'd not got out of the way in time. It was heat of the moment, retaliation. Doesn't make it right, far from it, but it does go a tiny way towards partially excusing it.
And the crowd having seen this prior to the celebration does also, again in a tiny way, partially excuse their reaction to his celebration.
He needs a 4 match ban definitely, but I don't see any reason to hold anything beyond that. Every player is allowed 1 brain snap.
Before this incident I've actually started to build a little respect for the fella. He's a very needy guy, but he's proved when he's getting what he needs (unreserved adulation, from both board and fans) he's every bit the player he promised he was, it's not all just big talk.
I don't actually like him, that's another matter, but I am starting to respect him.
If he can stay consistent he's gunna be immense.Last edited by EwarWoo; 14-09-09, 09:54 AM.

I just think it shows him for the kind of person he is. You see people's true colours when things are going well for them, and you see how they react. Some people would've kept some dignity about it, but Adebayor's not that kind of person.
He's the kind of person who kick you when you're down and use an opportunity when you're at your lowest ebb, to score points.

It's a direct reaction to the way he feels they treated him but.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI just think it shows him for the kind of person he is. I don't agree with him, but in his mind they didn't give him the appreciation he deserved, then when he moved so he could get it they branded him a merc and a traitor.
It was for the "love" he left, not the money, there's little doubt of that in my mind. Money just = love vouchers to some players. It's a status thing, not a matter of wanting it purely for it's monetary value. Backed up by the way he's now playing.

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor does not believe he should be banned following his behaviour in Saturday's victory over former club Arsenal.
The Togo star scored City's third goal in a 4-2 win over the Gunners and caused controversy by running the length of the field to celebrate in front of away fans.
Adebayor, who left Arsenal this summer in a £25million deal, is also in hot water after appearing to stamp on the face of ex-team-mate Robin van Persie.
Critics have called for the 25-year-old to be handed a suspension, but he does not think he has done anything wrong and has yet to hear from the Football Association.
"I don't know what I have done wrong to get banned," said Adebayor in The Sun.
Mistake
"I have not heard the police or FA want to talk to me. The club have not said anything."
Adebayor admits he made a mistake by running in front of the Gunners supporters after they reacted angrily and a steward was struck by a thrown object.
But he maintains that the act was not premeditated, adding: "It was silly to run up in front of the Arsenal fans. But these people have been insulting me all game.
"Even in the warm-up they were insulting me. They were saying things that are not nice to hear, personal things.
"I didn't plan it, not at all. I didn't even know that I would score. The way things were going from the warm-up, at the end it came into my head.
Apologise
"I would like to apologise to the steward for what happened, why not?"
Adebayor is also looking forward to playing against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on 24th April 2010.
He said: "I can go and play at the Emirates for the return game, why not? I play for Manchester City and if they want me to go and play, I will play."
Adebayor also claims that Van Persie, who branded his former colleague's actions 'mindless and malicious', did not accept an apology after the match.
He added: "After the game I saw him and said sorry but he didn't even want to speak to me."

Throw the book at the cunt.
So what if he was getting stick from the Arsenal fans they ****ing paid his wages for long enough watching him get richer and play like a prick moan like a little cunt.
His actions coupled with someone mindless idiots saw a steward get injured which shouldn't happen at a football stadium. He should have the book chucked at him and IMO get a 3 game ban for the stamp, 3 games for his celebration and a further 5 games for being a dick. There should be some punishment for Arsenal at the way their fans reacted as well.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

He was booked for his goal celebration...not the stamp, which the ref missed.
