The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I was there and you're right. We were the second best team until the last 15. A couple of nice goals at least, and a record crowd (which we'll be lucky to get close to again until Melbourne).

It had completely slipped my mind that yours not doesnt exist.

When you have a minute, wanna know how you felt about the whole situation/what you are going to do? I would be interested to hear the view of a former member up there.
In all honesty our greatest asset became our worst enemy. Namely Clive Palmer. He was cringeworthy at best, downright embarrassing at least. We, the fans were treated with utter contempt by the muppet. We were accused of starting trouble with the Roar fans & punished for it when the reality was damning against a small handful of Roar fans. Even their diehard fans admitted that we were falsely & wrongly accused. I expect better from an owner tbh.

On the field, Miron was just a puppet that Palmer told what to do & neither of them had the respect of the players. I know a few of the lads & they had no idea what was going on. They all wanted Mike Mulvey to take over as he's a straight shooter & they all respect him enormously. Jerrard Tyson was playing really well in goals & got dropped (apparently because he was interviewed & someone at the top got there nose out of joint). He was never spoken to about it, just dropped. He was told to report to the youth to play only to find himself on the bench. He went from the No1 fit keeper to No4 & the media were told he was injured. There was no injury & no explanation.

I think that foxsports scheduling also is a problem for a family friendly time slot that we would have liked. Many families leave by half time carrying their sleeping kids home around 9pm. When your struggling to get fans to come in the 1st place the last thing you want to see is half the crowd leaving early.

It's going to be hard for me to support anyone this year other than the boys I know. There's a few Lads at CCM & Newcastle & also at WSW. I'll be checking to see when CCM play Roar in the youth as i am more interested in watching up & coming stars than has beans.

I hope I haven't sounded too bitter ,even though I am in all honesty.

thanks SB that was actually a great little read. Its a shame it couldn't happen up there. Its a shame that people in general around Australia much prefer watching the any sport at home/in the pub that at the grounds, we never get as big crowds as our populaion suggests we should, AFL aside...

            Thanks mate.

Prior to the GCU failure we used t travel up to Bne several times a year to see the Roar play but that will never happen again due to the damage done by some inbred morons attitudes towards our team. really disturbing attitudes tbh. I'd rather support the local competition than those morons. Not all like but some

Boxing Day derby at our place. They gate crashed out nd trying to cause trouble. They threw flares onto the pitch & then cam looking for trouble after the match & scuffles were reported but they started it all. It made the papers, the news & we were blamed cause it was at skilled pk.

                  whereabouts are you from SB?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Ahh fair enough, I have no idea how I missed that! Think I had family from overseas then...

Didn't realise that the Roar fans were like that, I thought only the Melbourne fans and us were a bit over the top.

Hope you find a club to follow. Maybe you should start supporting the beautiful sky blue of Sydney

not sure that will happen any time soon.

Tyson & Minniecon are playing for wsw so ill be keeping an eye on them as they're top lads.

My top side that ill follow is CCM youth side as there's three young lads in there that I know plus two in the senior side.

Ahh ok good reason to support them then. I really dont mind most of the clubs in the A-League and hope success upon all of them. But I naturally hate the Victory, although it seems our rivalry with them has become less important following the entry of the Heart and the Wanderers. Nonetheless, the league is looking like its well on the up and hopefully one day we can watch it become the second most watched live sport in the nation (over taking AFL is never going to happen).

In regards to Sydney, our wide players are quick but quite **** TBH. Mallia clearly has a lot to learn as does Petratos (who I don't really rate at all). Antonis will hopefully move to Europe soon as he needs to continue to develop. Hopefully they can all learn from the class of Del Piero, as well as the graft of Emerton, who is still one of our most important players I think.

Its a shame our defence is utterly diabolical at the moment, or else with some more time we could give the title a serious run.

Ah that makes sense. With you mentioning Newcastle, CCM and WSW I thought you may be from further south. Of course you were referring to the CGU team. I'm from inner city Sydney...... Annandale to be precise. Love the GC! Great memories from many a year up there.

I was from Ramsgate prior to moving up here & spent many years working at the railway yards at Redfern.
