He made it as pro as I'm sure you know and I saw him play a fair bit at Chesterfield. He had the lot. Girl I know well (used to be my wife's best mate and is now married to one of my best mates) moved in with him. moved up to Carlisle with him and he was still into hard drugs. Not sure he ever got caught but it ruined his career, I think Carlisle sacked him, and he was thieving, knocking her about and all sorts.Originally posted by ElRobbie View PostI'm the same age as Jamie Burt he's from Blyth, I went to school in Bedlington, which is a town just up the road, our school used to play them every season twice obviously, he was untouchable, we played them in a cup final when we were a about 13 and they won 6-0, he scored all 6, 3 from outside the box, our keeper was a good shot stopper as well. He got mixed up in drugs and thieving to pay for it, used to nick the Newcastle training kit to sell on even. Everyone thought he would make it as a top flight player, I've no doubt he would of if he had the right people around him and didn't live in a town blighted by heroin problems. Shame really.
As for Suso, lets hope he signs a new contract cause when he starts making a name for himself clubs will come knocking

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

You know that if the Toon and the bitters think you're bad news then you must be a wrong un.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe made it as pro as I'm sure you know and I saw him play a fair bit at Chesterfield. Last I heard he was turning out for the Spartans with his brother. Imagine being that good and completely pissing it away.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

The key is that he wants to stay and as long as we offer him the reasonable contract and continue to give him the chance to prove himself I cannot see him going anywhere. For now.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostThere's been little mention of a contract on offer for Suso. I'm getting a tad worried tbhMember #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I hope your right Mo & quietly confident that we'll get it sorted soon enough. I'll sleep better when he's signed up for 4-5 years.Originally posted by Mostar View PostThe key is that he wants to stay and as long as we offer him the reasonable contract and continue to give him the chance to prove himself I cannot see him going anywhere. He played alongside Michael Owen for various England youth teams and funnily enough when I saw him in the third and fourth divisions he was a bit reminiscent of Owen. Small, low centre of gravity. But he had much more about his game. Used to dribble past people for fun, scored goals, often spectacular ones. He stood out in nearly every game at that level, could easily have made it at the highest level IMO.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostWhat kind of player was Jamie Burt? About time a mod showed up.Originally posted by Reece View PostSo, Suso, yeah?
How good is his first touch/control by the way? A couple of times he brought balls down from the air absolutely sublimely
He does look the goods doesn't he! He looks like he's been playing at this level for ages.
