I don’t think Suso did much wrong yesterday, played quite well IMO. I don’t think he has any problem playing in the wide forward position, but he needs a better full back than Wisdom supporting him. A lot of Suso’s passes you’ll notice went across the park yesterday as realistically there wasn’t much threat down the right wing. Johnson would have created more space for Suso by occupying defenders and would have been a lot more threatening receiving his passes. If by chance we see Johnson back at RB for Chelsea, then I’d happily see Suso playing ahead of him.

You could add Bellamy to that and Maxi.

Out of the 6 top scorers we had last season only 2 are currently still at the club (Suarez and Gerrard).

Painfully short of attacking options.

We will need to be really patient with Suso and use him sparingly. I think he is best suited for a creative role down the middle like Silva.

Silva made his debut in 2005 and was considered a precocious talent like Suso. It look him 4 more years to become a regular starter. We may have to be that patient with Suso.

Until then we may need to use him sparingly or send him out on loan to other teams who play attacking football.

I think Rodgers expected Borini to slot in pretty much straight away. Long term I think Borini can be a success but the manager gambled and it came up short.

The one player who we've really badly missed this season is Kuyt. He could have really made a difference playing in the wide right role. Composure, goals, and workrate.

I think you might be right but I think he was wrong to gamble further on youth when we were likely to have a small squad augmented by talented players. He was well within his rights to make the gamble but when it doesn't pay off in the short term I think that it is reasonable for his decision to be questioned.

It is a real shame that Suso appears to have no finish on him at all. He has great feet and occasionally makes some deft runs/moves into the box. Hopefully he'll learn/add a bit of that to his game.

i wonder if suso and sterling [maybe others] are a little in awe of suarez and feel the need to always pass to him. this has certainly happened in the past with gerrard dominating other midfield team mates...

suso is a creative player who might be better utilized more in the middle of the pitch so he can move the ball and be more involved with the build up. trying to accommodate him and give him some game time on the right might not do him or the team any real favours.

maybe someone who has seen more of him in the reserves might be better placed to comment on his strengths and weaknesses.

Playing him on the right is almost like playing Hendo there.

Yes it will give him some valuable first team experience but Suso is not a winger and won't do well in that position.

Spain U19 used him there few times during the summer and he made no impact for them there neither.

Also agree that we should use him sparingly too, which will happen as soon as Lucas is back and as soon as we either buy a new striker or Borini is fit again as he and Sahin are most likely to lose their spots.
