haha, i did start writing out a list of players i'd include, but then couldn't bre arsed as i have to go out, all the above were included, i went for Pepe over Dudek because Dudek had his Glory..stole a certain show tbh.

But Pepe missing out on Spain, and how he's been since being with us, and the pain a certain group of players suffered under the H&G era and since, the way it ended that season after finishing 2nd, well...that's why i choose Pepe, i'd love to see him and Gerrad lift the title, so many deserving players wont achieve it with us now.

Now i really have to go out.

he didn't even try and save hulks shot. great keepers make it as hard as possible for an attacker to score. be imposing. he just stayed where he was and went down on one knee as if he was proposing. weird. good save second half mind.

But if he commits too early then Hulk just puts it the other side, he tried to stand up then go the right way but just got beaten by the power. TBH I don't think you can blame any keeper for conceding in that situation against a decent striker, I've been critical of Reina recently but I don't think that's entirely fair Bob. And it was an excellent save in the second half.

I was disappointed with that as well.

Perhaps he could not have saved it but I expected more effort on his part.

Yeah, having watched that a few times, maybe it wasn't brilliant but when Carra lost it he had to back away to try to get the best position, then he tried to stand up maybe anticipating the right foot shot into the other corner but Hulk slid it past him with the left. Perhaps it looks a little weak but it was a virtually hopeless situation against a player of Hulk's quality.

Not me. He just doesn't 'excel' anymore, but is obviously still capable of making the saves every now and then, as evidenced by the save in the second half. But he's just an average top-flight keeper these days, albeit a very expensive one to have on the payroll every week, and given the length of time he's been here, it may be best for all concerned to move on if circumstances allow it.
Difficult position to replace though, and you can easily find yourself in a problem position for a number of seasons if you don't make the right call, so its something for Brendan to ponder in the summer (then again though, I would argue that there are other areas to tinker with ahead of Reina's situation).
You might well free up what is clearly not a 100k-a-week keeping position, for a cheaper alternative who will just end up costing us the same amount of points anyway, and lose vital experience in the squad.

Think it's been looked into too much.

He tried to give Hulk the eyes and went for protecting the route through his legs, it's hard to dive when you are already on your way down to one knee. Hulk had most of the goal to aim at, and I wouldn't expect Reina to have saved it in that situation.

The save from Hulk in the second half was a great reaction save which was like Pepe of old.

Exactly - are people simply forgetting the excellent save he made in the second half to deny Hulk a second match-killing goal?

Reina's only mistake was his air-kick last night - and I've thought recently he's been showing signs of getting back into form.
