Pepe's dip in form is a shame, sometimes he can be brilliant but I think his confidence has been rocked over the past few years, and he may never regain that form he once had.

He was wrong to come all the way out of his goal today, and we were subsequently punished. He plays in a position where if he makes one error we will get punished, and leading and looking comfortable at the Etihad, he put us under unnecessary pressure.

Pepe will forever be a Liverpool legend.

Maybe not specifically Butland but someone young and talented to put pressure on Reina to up his game. Jones can't fulfill that function because he's equally error strewn.

I'd like to see us go for ter Stegen, however I suspect a lot of bigger clubs* will be after his signature too.

*By bigger I mean teams offering a higher standard of football.

Nope I think it's a telling stat in isolation for any team wanting to be top four or better unless their forwards are scoring with abandon at the other end.

I think it's probably time for a change, Pepe hasn't been earning his massive contract since he signed it. The 100 grand a week could be used elsewhere on the pitch.

I hate to say it, but it's probably time to cash in whilst we'd still get a fee for him.

I dont think his mistake was too bad, 9 times out of 10, it would lead to nothin but it was obvious the ball had too pace and was going to end outside the box, and aguero vs reina on the ground theres one winner

I disagree. He was miles out of goal trying to cover a very minor threat and left the goal open, not just for the shot which was unlikely, but for any kind of cross or pull back. Completely exposed for no good reason and therefore a huge error of judgment IMO.

butland is probably good enough, and i used him as an example as i dont know enough about stegen.
butland went for about 3.5M. thats a decent price for a good keeper. he might not be quite the finished article yet but he is very highly regarded.
in 2-3 years someone will be paying 15m+ to buy him from stoke.

and how cool would it be to have a Liverpool shirt with BUTLAND written on the back...

We have been linked with Marc Andre Ter Stegen from mönchengladbach. I have not seen him play so don't know how good he is.

Where have we been linked with him, it is a link I would welcome, good young keeper but maybe a move to us at such a young age maybe a bit early.

Maybe I am being a bit to critically of Butland, but the way several media outlets and fans go on you would swear he was world class, it is still hard to judge him because it is in the championship. Yeah 3.5 is still a snip though but I would rate Stegen far higher in the few games I have seen him.
