yeh, he tried to run into the player and pick the ball up from his feet instead of diving on it.
he is really excellent going for the high ball or diving to the corner but is sometimes a little reluctant to smother the ball at the feet of the attacker.

José Reina: Liverpool are ready to compete for Champions League place
      • Goalkeeper calls on board to invest in squad for 2013-14
      • 'I'm proud to share a dressing room with Luis Suárez'

José Reina believes Liverpool can compete for Champions League qualification next season providing the club retain their key talents and invest further in Brendan Rodgers' squad.

Liverpool's latest set of published accounts revealed a loss of £40.5m for the 10-month period to 31 May 2012 and an increase in net debt to £87m from £65m in 2010-11. Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool's owner, loaned a further £47m to the club in August and has embarked on a series of cost-cutting measures since Rodgers arrived as manager and understood to have reduced the annual wage bill alone by over £15m.

Ian Ayre, Liverpool's managing director, has said the finances will not force Rodgers to sell players this summer, when leading striker Luis Suárez will be targeted by several European clubs. But Reina, another high-earner who has been linked with a summer move, insists Liverpool must keep their leading players, and spend again, to reclaim a place among the European elite.

The goalkeeper said: "This year has been important for us in terms of getting to know what the manager wants and develop the ideas. Then we have to be ready for the very first game of next season to challenge. Obviously we will need some help from the board but I think the basis is well settled. We know the ideas and philosophies of the manager. It is getting better and better so hopefully we will be ready to compete."

Reina cautioned against looking too far ahead – "we need to finish this season first," he said – and claimed Liverpool will approach Tottenham's visit to Anfield on Sunday with added confidence following an impressive personal and collective display at Wigan. "I'm happy and I helped the team," said the Spain international of Saturday's 4-0 win. "I did my job. There will be some mistakes along the way but there will also be games like Wigan. The whole group is trying to find the right balance. We will get better, I'm sure of it."

The Liverpool keeper joined the growing tributes for Suárez's contribution this season, with the Uruguay international overtaking Robin van Persie as the leading goalscorer in the Premier League with a hat-trick against Wigan that took his league total to 21.

"Liverpool is very lucky to have Luis," added Reina. "Every day I am proud to say that I share a dressing room with such a big player. He is 100% all the time. Obviously we will see what happens in the future. Everybody wants him to stay with the team."

This summer could either make or break us, again. It feels like a great opportunity we have, and it would be a massive disappointment if we did not invest. I'm sure we will.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has dismissed speculation linking him with Barcelona as a replacement for Victor Valdes, who has refused a new deal at the Nou Camp.

"[A move to Barcelona] is not in my hands and the rumour mongering is part of that," Reina told AS. "They're such a great club, but I'm happy at Liverpool.

"He [Valdes] is a friend, I'm going to respect him in everything that he decides. He will have his reasons. He's not told me anything"

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Brendan Rodgers has dismissed speculation linking Pepe Reina with a move away from Liverpool by insisting their relationship is strong.

Reports have suggested that Reina could be a summer target for Barcelona, with Victor Valdes expected to leave after announcing that he does not intend to sign a new contract at Camp Nou.

However, Rodgers has stressed that Reina remains a key part of his plans for the future at Anfield, saying he has never had a problem with the 30-year-old.

"I think a lot of the stuff this year has just been based on the speculation that Valdes is going," said the Liverpool manager.

"I am counting on him for next season, yes. He's never been unsettled and our relationship is very strong.

"Pepe and I speak a lot. He's a good man and I've real respect for him."

Rodgers added: "I see him as someone who is going to be here. He is 30 years of age and is someone who looks after his body. The sports science team this year have worked really well with him.

"I think he's been outstanding and had great focus and hopefully that will continue for us."

I think this is great news as good keepers are like gold dust and people are far too eager to move Pepé on thinking it will be a piece of piss to replace him.
