I think top 6 was last years top 4. If we finish below 6th it will be a huge dissapointment.
We can write off Chelsea imo and the Mancs look like they should be **** but they wont be. Spurs have a CL campaign and **** knows what will happen with City and Arsenal's squad isnt to big either.

Those 5 should finish above us but we have done it before and with luck and key injuries to others and not us for a change we could kick on further but its hard to make an argument that any other team in the league should be above us come may.

I know people live off depression and love this we are **** feeling but in what parellele universe do these mid table teams like Sunderland, West Ham, Bolton, Stoke and Birmingham have genuine world talent in there team.

I cant think of 1 player on our first 11 that wouldnt walk into 90% of the mid table teams. I mean come on guys get a grip, things are **** but we are not a mid table team and anyone who sayus we are is just talking bollocks

      Pepe
      Gerrard
      Torres

3 genuine world class players and Agger if he stayed fit isnt far off world class spatter that with some above average and a couple just average......but still above some of the **** that Mid table team puts out.

So come on lets stop all this mid table bull****, top 4 we are more than capable of this season and save all this midtable bull**** for 2 seasons time when we have been fully raped and pillaged by those yank cunts.

I am cautiously optimistic. Too many things would need to fall in place and we would need to have loads and loads of luck to get into top 4 contentions.

Having said that, if we gain some momentum and win few games in the row, confidence can be truly a beautiful thing.

Have any of you 'optomists' watched us this season?

Ill say again, 2 holding midfelders and 1 up front at home against Turkeys 6th best team, 2 holding midfielders and 1 up front against newly promoted West Brom, who were hammered 6 by Chelsea?

Not only that but when both of these sides got the ball at Anfield all of our players retreated behind the half way line immedeatly, there is no pressing whatsoever.

And, when you would play 2 holding midfielders and 1 up front away at Citeh we get the opposite????

I agree about top 4 being unlikely. It depends not only on us having a much better season than we can reasonably expect but also on Man City or, more likely, Arsenal underperforming.

Regarding sixth, Spurs' Champions League exertions might well be their undoing (as the weekend's result indicates), Villa are in a bit of a mess and Everton are enjoying their seemingly customary appalling start. I don't know whether anyone else will be threatening.

So top 6 is feasible but not a given - top 4, well, I can't see it.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

By a manager who is new to the job and is still learning the strengths and weaknesses of his squad. We may be playing ****e, but if I remember correctly we did win those games didn't we?

Hell yes, 1-0 both, and we were really ambitious after we scored in both.

                        Exactly what I think too

Top 6 should be the minimum
Top 4 would be good and an over-achievement
Anything higher and he's the messiah, naturally
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

A good goal?! It was a complete fluke.
