So the lesson for Roy from our recent past is that if you're going to buy second rate fullbacks, buy foreign ones. It will be months until the criticism starts.

OK, I might be making five here but putting two and two together...

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

We could sign Christopher Biggins as Fernando's back-up, and there'd be some who'd try and justify it.
There were none because I'm sure we all had other targets in mind, but then I guess none of us put too much thought into us having only a few million to spare for a LB.

Anyhow, no one is saying konchesky is the best in the world, which we all want at Anfield, what some are saying is that Konchesky is better than what we have and will do a decent enough job.
            Forwards.......

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Looking for positives, the first one is that my Hammers supporting mate rates him (I'm still not sure if this is definitely a good thing )

the second is that we should, in theory, be a bit more solid at left back now. If we're going to stick with the Kuyt/Johnson combo, the exact opposite on the other side (say Babel and Konchesky *shudders*) may give us a bit of variety, and in an odd way a bit more fluidity in transition if PK is going to stay back more often

It may also bring Agger into the attacks more if Konchesky holds which can't be all bad

A definite plus is Agger moving back into the middle. Personally I hope Aurelio stays fit more than we're used to - he's a class left-back when fully tuned up and a back four of Johnson-Carra-Agger-Aurelio looks okay to me. I can live with PK as back up, no problem. I do think though he'll be Roy's first choice...which obviously doesn't fill me with too much confidence.

He's a good, solid player for a midtable side. Which is what we are now sadly. Still, with a bit of luck he'll do well and we'll get into the EL again next year.

Clutching at straws here but he's been to FA Cup and UEFA cup finals playing as a regular. Mustn't be all bad eh?

On what basis does ANYONE think Aurelio might stay fit ?!

Well I think we can have some hope that our new crack team of medical people can do the trick. They claim to have got to the bottom of Aquilani's problems........and then we promptly gave him away.

will people stop with this bollocks!!!!! its starting to grind my gears.

I know people live off depression and love this we are **** feeling but in what parellele universe do these mid table teams like Sunderland, West Ham, Bolton, Stoke and Birmingham have genuine world talent in there team.

I cant think of 1 player on our first 11 that wouldnt walk into 90% of the mid table teams. I mean come on guys get a grip, things are **** but we are not a mid table team and anyone who sayus we are is just talking bollocks

                            Pepe
                            Gerrard
                            Torres

3 genuine world class players and Agger if he stayed fit isnt far off world class spatter that with some above average and a couple just average......but still above some of the **** that Mid table team puts out.

So come on lets stop all this mid table bull****, top 4 we are more than capable of this season and save all this midtable bull**** for 2 seasons time when we have been fully raped and pillaged by those yank cunts.

I wouldn't call 6th mid-table, but I think we'll finish 6th or thereabouts. Top 4 would be a resounding success IMO - if Roy manages that he'll deserve huge credit.
