We should be looking to build on the quality we've got in the side and GJ is certainly one of our most important players, look how we missed him when he was out for a while.

Luckily we've been winning while GJ (key player that he is to our formation) is going through his indifferent spell. Thankfully against West Ham he started to realise what he's good at.

Its the perfect time for him to return with a bang. He has been like two men down the right wing for us when on form. With him again returning to form I'm actually looking forward to these tough run of away games now.

Just the fact that he plays gives the opposition something else to think about.

He seems a bit low on confidence in beating his man but at the same time if he's given time and space then he can punish teams in the same way a good winger would.

Would be good to have the same on the left.

Definitely looks a little low on confidence to me. I hope that fantastic cross for Luis's goal will have given him a much needed confidence boost, because when he's on form he's a real asset going forward.

i'd prefer we kept Johnson - good experienced right back, who defo gives us an extra option going forward.

We do need to find some decent cover tho - someone who stays fit and can defend.

left back is the big issue tho - cissokho not up to it, not sure robinson will come through either and enrique can be inconsitent

i'd say we need a first choice left back, with enrique as cover, and then right back Glen Johnson as the first choice but with a good player pushing him for a starting place.

then if he is willing, keep someone like flanagan as a young local lad who is happy to be the '3rd' choice left back/right back and maybe only play 10 games a year, but is willing to stay and will fight his guts out in those 10 games

Suarez and the rest of the team made a special effort to congratulate GJ on that cross. Hopefully, just the boon he needs.

Love that about Suarez, he's always very quick to acknowledge whoever teed up the chance when he scores. Nice team spirit.

I think the problem is that he is a certain type of defender - he wins his tackles out wide and pushes up rather than covering in behind his CB. He has pace to recover his own and others mistakes but he's not a natural sweeping defender. This means that how well he is perceived to do is often a function of how well the CBs and DMs cover that central area.

I think his lack of consistency is a reflection of the lack of consistency inside him.

I think in general this is a problem coming from the CBs and it also has an impact on how well Lucas has played (the deepest player midfielder is often given too much space to cover and the CBs often seem to be too close for him to drop in between which has been a tactic he has employed before to help).

Banned from driving for 6 months. Failed to turn up to court because of the Hull game a few weeks ago. Didn't help him that. He didn't really turn up in the Hull game either to be honest

Good RBs are in short supply and imo we should offer him fair and reasonable contract extension.

We have been having issues finding a proper LB for years now and I'm afraid we may have the same issue with a RB position unless we re-sign him.

I like Montoya but PL is different than La Liga and McLaughlin is still far from being ready for the first team and needs to be sent on a loan to continue with his development.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
