He was a good player. Sadly he's mostly terrible now, would be more beneficial to play with 10 men than have Glen on the pitch. Won't miss him one bit.

Felt a touch sorry for him today - benched for his last game after 6 years 'service'....and not even brought on. I know it was Stevie's day and Johnson wouldn't have dreamed of trying to geg in (unlike Houllier, as per ).....but still. Johnson was a really good player for us for four years....until he went to pieces for the last two.

          Still, time to go.

Unless he wasn't involved because the club are giving him a year extension

Or we were losing, so bringing on Glen for a send off just wasn't on?

That's really not a factor when it comes to Brendan's subs.

Its a shame his level has dropped off so much that its tainted how good he was for a fair proportion of his time here. Those runs from deep and the ease he beat players with were something else when he was on top of his game. The injuries must have bitten hard.

                    All the best Glen.

remember when Houllier played Liverpool when he was manager of Aston Villa..... he basically milked the kop like he was milking a ****in cow...... whilst didn't even acknowledge the Villa fans!!! And the story of him going into the dressing room in Istanbul was just cringeworthy!!!!

Anyway, back to Glen Johnson. He was a good player for us at one time. I just never really thought he was worth the outlay to be honest. £18m!!! When, for me, we had a better player in Arbeloa who we were willing to let go to Real Madrid for something like £4.5m. It just seemed weird. Meanwhile Arbeloa is still a very useful squad player at Madrid....

I was told a story of how that £18m fee was partially bollocks - that we were owed something like 9m of it from the Crouch deal and with Pompey on the ropes financially, we were ****ting it that they would go under and we wouldnt see a carrot of it. So the £18m fee was actually something a lot less and a write off of what we were owed. Plus it was probably beneficial to Hicks and Gillett as it put the message out that we were ambitious spunking £18m on a right back.

He was an okay player. The big pity for Glen Johnson is that Harry Redknapp has focked off from Premier League football - as he would have been good for a 3 year deal on £100k a week at QPR.....
