You could go down that route, but i'd rather give him a fair amount of time before writing him off like yesterday's newspapers.

How do you explain his time with NUFC? He's proved he can produce.

Was he that good for Newcastle? I can remember some great goals he scored but I am not sure he was consistently good or brilliant.
      Are we winning?

If he needs more time to develop then I'm all for loaning him out or putting him in the reserves. Right now his performances are only a problem for us. As for his newcastle performances I compare those to the Cole/Keane examples.

Another good example is Ibrahimovic at Barcelona. At Inter Ibra was goal machine, but he flopped at Barca simply because their style of play and his didn't click.

He started off like a rocket and went out like a damp squib.

Then there's Mario Gomez who flunked like, well Andy Carroll, in his first two seasons for Bayern but ended up a pneumatic goal machine for them, so there are other precedents too.

He was mesmerising around/before Christmas time. I was watching every Newcastle game at the time and he was scoring for fun. It was beautiful to watch, he was unplayable. If he can do it there, he will do it here. Once the whole team gets off its arse and starts producing the goods, the force will run strongly through every player's veins. And then if one of them isn't producing, the other's will spread cosmic power and we'll be tearing fabrics into space time and warping our way to a bazillion titles at triple light speed! **** YEAA !!!!

Best example yet. Gomez was utterly **** for a major portion of the last few years, even for the national team, and now he's a titan, a hulk of epic proportions, banging goals in from different time zones in other universes!!! **** YEA!!! GO ANDY GO!!!

As much as there are some circumstantial similarities between the 2, Mario has more in his game than Andy and has been much better finisher (0.56 ratio of goals per game vs 0.32 fo Carroll) throughout his career so I don't think you can really compare those 2.

You can't be serious? You can't just mention a stat like that with two completely different circumstances, leagues and different number of years in their careers so far.

Andy is new to a proper big club and he hasn't had a bit of luck so far. Hitting the post and crossbar recently and some world class saves have denied him a few goals. Give him time and lay off his back with the 'stats'.

I'm so excited. And I just cant hide it. I'm about to loose control and I think I like it.

I included the ratios and if you read my post carefully you'll see that I said you cannot compare those 2

Also for your information Andy's numbers are looking better as majority of his goals actually come from Championship division, which is much worse in terms of quality than Bundesliga

Still don't agree with rolling out all these ratios and stats. If the only thing Andy has to his game is in the air, he wouldn't have been valued so much. Were you one of these people with their 'stats and ratios' on how 'useless' Lucas was a few years ago? (Not saying that you were but... just an example.)

Not having a go or anything, I just think as Liverpool fans should be behind him, 'cos no one else will.

**And also for you information** When Mario was 20, he was playing for VfB Stuttgart II. In the 3rd tier of German football.

Some people must seriously have no faith in Kenny's judgement whatsoever.

Have a word with you truly.

I have no idea what you are talking about here as you clearly missed my point completely.

I would suggest that you read (and I mean read) some of my previous posts in this thread before you start putting words in my mouth and taking things out of context, which you seem to be doing very well.

""Also that info about Mario playing for Stuttgart II is class Yes that is their B team just like Barcelona has their B team. Don't get what your point was coz if you take those goals he scored for them his ratio of goals per game goes up to 0.58

** For your information Carroll played for Preston North End in English 3rd division when he was 19..

It's not that Craig. Everyone makes mistakes in the transfer market - no one is infallible. I'm over the moon with Kenny because he gets far more right than he gets wrong - and I think that's about the best you can hope for from any manager.

Here's a question for all of you. If Kenny could go back in time, do you reckon he would still have gone for Andy Carroll at 35 million?

i dunno maybe. depends on how quickly kenny thought he'd get going and whether or not kenny still believes he'll get there now.
