He looks a lot leaner than he used to I think but he definitely needs to put on some muscle.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Me too. Before Lucas, he was the previous title holder of my "The Name Of The Player I Would Put On The Back Of My Replica Shirt, If I Was The Sort Of Person Who Bought Replica Shirts And Put Other People's Names On It"

Here's a question. If Torres was offered back to us for £15m - effectively meaning we had sold him, bought him back, and got Andy Carroll pretty much for free, would you go for it?

Could take the pressure off Carroll, could allow him to develop as a squad player, could mean Torres reignites, could mean Carroll learns from Torres's all round play...

There is another side to it too obvs, but that would be worth a risk wouldn't it?

I am under no illusions - it never would happen. Torres burned his bridges here, I know that, but theoretically.

                Torres is finished imo

A big part of his game was his explosive pace off the mark

IMO hes lost that and as such will only ever be a shadow of the player he was

Effectively for free though? 70% Torres is still a great signing fir free

                    No thanks

70% of the old Torres would be fine but that player doesnt exist anymore (the current player isnt 30% of the old Torres)

He'd be on an enormous wage and frankly wouldnt want him sulking around the dressing room

.At least Andy will be thereabouts for selection for the Euros with England & if not, has time on his hands whereas Torres is actually in danger of missing out altogether with Spain with his manager not impressed with his form apparantly!

Friend in living in Spain had informed me of this last week.
Have asked him for the link...still waiting!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

My point, which should not have been hard to understand, was going back to your ''Championship much worse than Bundesliga''. Of course it is. But Mario wasn't playing in the Bundesliga when Andy was a regular in the Championship(age wise). Mentioning his age was to put things into relation. And Preston? Short term loan

Actually, to make it easier for you. When they were both ~20, Andy was playing on a regular basis in a better quality league. Championship Vs 3rd Liga. When they were both around 21 Andy was play in the Premiership, Mario in the Bundesliga.

My main point of course, was on all of your stats which you use to undermine Andy Carroll. Maybe Mario does have 'more to his game' than Andy at the moment, but by the stats you gave, 'more to his game' only means more goals. As Kenny and so many other respected football people have said, Andy has the potential to be a top striker and if all it took was for them to look at your smug 'stats', then we wouldn't have been so eager to buy him.

I support Liverpool, and if Andy Carroll is playing for Liverpool, and Andy is supported by Kenny, well then, I support Andy.
Mario Gomez & Andy Carroll are both tall and have fantastic hair, other than that they are two completely different players and cannot be compared like for like IMO.

Neither can Drogba and Carroll but everyone sees fit to do it

Your normally fairly spot on Lec but I don't agree with this about Torres, just before his red card he was beginning to click back into gear, his goal away to Man U and more importantly his miss showed that.
Anyone can miss an open goal, maybe 10 strikers in world football could have finished his goal like he did and then make the run for the miss.

I think that AVB went back to 'old' Chelsea (sitting deeper, picking Drogba and Lampard) for short term gains, now he has qualified for the next round of the CL I think he'll revert Chelsea back to a style more like he wants and that means Torres feeding off Mata in a 4-3-3 with the ball being moved much quicker.

There's no doubt Torres is low on confidence but a run of 3-4 games will bring goals and he'll get back to a really high class level.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
