1) it hasnt inflated all the prices we have paid, we got Coates pretty cheap and Adam & Enrique. Henderson and downing we paid about the going rate for especially when you consider Young & Jones deals that happened around the same time

2) In your opinion (which frankly counts for nothing). ALL managers make mistakes Fergie spunked £25 million each on Veron & Hargreaves amongst others and it hasnt significantly caused people to overly question him.

3) Torres asked for a transfer with a couple of days of the transfer window left to go. I'm surprised we managed one deal never mind completing 2 or 3

4) Last January was our last window before FFPR. I've yet to see ANYBODY confirm whether transfer profits from previous years could be carried over into an assessment period for FFPR, so maybe the money HAD to be spent and with 24-48 hours remaining we did the best that we could in that time

5) the most pointless point you make. Lots of things go into factoring a players price. Namely age, ability, position etc.. What you are suggesting is far too simplistic

1:Re my post. I said it inflated the price of transfer fees except for those at the end of or close to then end of a contract where the price falls (i.e. Adam and Enrique). Coates was not cheap. He was very expensive by the standards of Uruguay but ok by European standards. And we overpaid quite substantially for both Downing and Henderson.

2:Ferguson made mistakes after winning title after title. And when Man Ure could afford to waste money. We cannot afford it. This is also at the beginning of a new managerial era.

3:We could have waited until the Summer.

4:Actually we could have spent the £50million in the summer and had no impact on the FFPR.

5:Actually I was only talking about comparing like for like. A striker bought for £10m should be better than one bought for £3m if the latter is not 30+ or close to the end of a contract. So for £35m we expect £35m worth of striker. We have yet to see £10m worth of striker.

We need to face facts. This transfer was a major **** up.

And as for your points in later posts about people changing their minds and getting it wrong. I will repeat

Adam is not good enough for a title chasing team (still too slow, unathletic, and knackered after 60 minutes). My opinion has not changed

Henderson. Is one hell of a player waiting to be polished up. But we still overpaid. My opinion has not changed.

Currently he has no place in the team, he must accept that, get his head down and continue working hard. Another couple of seasons of growing up will do him wonders.
