Pretty sure this is the chap of tlw and is pretty reliable.

Personally, I won't lose any sleep. Never been a fan of his and he clearly doesn't fit into a pass and move team.imo.

To be honest I'd be very surprised if we let him go now, I'd imagine we'd give him at least another year unless there is some big off the field problem. He's not really had many opportunities, and certainly hasn't had a run of games, so IMO it's still to early to judge him.

Theres been very little pertinent criticism of Carroll in this thread

The most people can do is simply say hes ****/not good enough etc...

IMO he has been showing signs of improvement in his general play - his finishing is still off - but whose isnt in our team

Yes he hasnt pulled up trees but hes not deserving of some of the tags (worst signing ever etc.....)

The biggest worry for me about Carroll is giving him the service he needs on a regular basis

For 35mill£ he is (by far) the worst signing ever. Even Veron looks like a golden boy next to him. Makes a grown man wanna cry.

That said I think we are about two/three players away from being back in top 4 on a permanent basis. I think we are looking better than we have for a long long time - a part from the fact that we couldnt score at a Martin Sheen Party...

Carroll has youth on his side. Question is does KD/FSG stick with him and give him time to develop or do we cut our losses and take a huge loss on him. I'd like to think we would give him another 6-12 months but we need to invest in another top striker this window, move Carroll down the pecking order, take some of the pressure off the lad and help him develop. At this moment in time he does look like a catastrophy of a signing but I wouldnt write him off just yet.

That's the big question Sean. KD/Comolli/FSG would then be admitting it was a spectacular failure. I'd be more inclined to let Kuyt go first and give Carroll another 6-12 months. Kuyts been a fanstastic servant but he is on the wane and as time goes by offers less and less plus he is on a big salary. Either way we need a goalscorer in this months window or we can kiss top 4 goodbye.

Me neither. I didn't feel he was good enough when we signed him and he's been worse than I expected even with my very low expectations.

Feel desperately sorry for him, he's obviously better than he's shown, but I would not be surprised if Kenny has decided he can go. As I said I'd be relieved.
