I might be in a minority in thinking this wierd but that doesnt necessarily make me wrong. has anyone else ever seen another player drinking red bull on the bench or during a game because I havent.

that might be the reason I think its unprofessional because ive never seen it happen before.
Snuck it in and swigged in when the coaches weren't looking did he?

I agree with you on this one, using Downing on the right, Suarez veering towards the left or having bellamy there means we still dont go to the byline and cross balls in. Enrique and Johnson dont do it either. He has had chances though, think Norwich comes to mind and some great saves from Bunn and Hart come to mind too.

At Newcastle the play was based around him and he flourished he wont get that with us, but he's only 22. He's got a lot to work on, especially his movement, but with Suarez being so prominent in our play and his own form Carroll doesnt get the time he needs.

I think time is running out for Mr Carroll. I cant believe that we wont be signing another striker in the window. IF we are serious about top 4, we have no choice, because Carroll is not dependable.

IF we dont finish top 4, will Suarez stay? Will Reina get fed up? I think they are out two best players, so we need to keep them, and that means we need to start banging in goals, or else we will start to drift.

Time is running out for Carroll sweet jesus man

The lad is still a new signing at the club, he is coming back from injury playing in a side which does not play to his strenght.

He needs service, lots of service, hes not getting any or very little at the moment. We need another striker anyway regardless of how Andy is playing.

Kuyt has not played out and out striker since he has comed to the club, the only out and out stiker we have at the club is Suarez and he is more of a creator than a poacher. I think Suarez and Berbatov 2009 would be utterly superb

Just makes you think how awesome Suarez & Torres - especially Torres 2007/8 - would have been

Time is not running out for Carroll, I'm incredibly frustrated with him but I think IF we can afford to get another top striker in january it would take some pressure off Carroll. He should bulk up more though and hopefully we'll make him. He still has time on his side (although at the moment we don't) but he's not handling the pressure well.

Torres played well under Rafa. I think his style was perfect for him. I am doubtful as to whether he would adapt to Kennys pass and move style. Also think he's better playing on his own up top.

From the Guardian - five things we learned

                  Carroll is unlucky

Luck is the great unspoken in football, playing a far larger part than is usually admitted. A mathematician at All Souls College, Oxford, calculated that even to cancel out the impact of opponents' form (ie, it is easier to play a team after they have just lost four games than when they have just won four games), a season would need to be seven times longer than it is at present. One moment of good luck can give a player a surge of confidence, add an extra fraction of determination and decisiveness to his game; one moment of bad luck can have the opposite effect.

Andy Carroll may be struggling at Liverpool, but there have been signs he is not far off a return to form. Against Manchester City, he was denied a winner only by a superlative save from Joe Hart. On Monday, it was Blackburn's Mark Bunn who denied him, plunging to his right and slightly backwards to shovel Carroll's effort wide, a save so remarkable that Blackburn's players congratulated him almost as though it had been a goal. Carroll did nothing wrong with either the attempt against City or against Blackburn: but for the misfortune of finding two goalkeepers in exceptional form, he would perhaps be being hailed as the man who found two late winners.

On the other hand, he also put a good headed chance just wide a few minutes before Bunn's save; but then had he scored against City, had he had that extra surge of self-belief, he may have found the extra inch in his leap that would have guided that on target and Bunn's late save would have been an irrelevance.

The danger is that he comes to believe – as Fernando Torres perhaps has – that he is doomed and nothing will ever work again; but if he keeps meeting crosses like that, the goals will come eventually. Not every goalkeeper can save their best to deny him.

He needs to be given a run of games, you can't judge him on the odd game here and the odd game there. Bring him on for the last 10 minutes then not play him at all. IMO if we give him a run of games we'll see what he can do, if then we judge him to be not good enough fair enough.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't care for blaming the uncontrollable variables, it's an easy out. From what he's shown thus far he hasn't done every in his control to succeed. If the luck factor is the reasoning and explanation, each and every player can pull it out.

Also, people who are saying it's far too early to judge him; it wasn't too early to judge players like Aquilani, Dossena, Joe Cole, Ngog and others (even ****ing Robbie Keane) who all have shown a lot more than Carroll.

I'm not saying he's never going to be decent, but at Liverpool in the recent future I just don't see it. I don't think he's a horrible player, just a terrible stylistic fit - I've said this since day 1. His demeanour, performance and everything else he's done since arriving hasn't done anything to make me think he can turn things around.

I agree that's how it is now, but if a team like Liverpool can't play two different styles to suit which strikeforce is playing then these lads are on far far too much money, it's what huge squads like today are made for, surely ?

Gerrard could be the catalyst here, going forward.

We either change our tactics to suit his game or he continues to stay on the bench.

Has all the potential to be a good player, but will never be the type for a flowing pass and move system, he doesnt have the touch or speed, does have a good pass on him though.
