I don't think it's as black and white as the people saying that Carroll has been "****" but I don't think anyone can argue the fact that he isn't living upto his potential and looks a completely different animal from the one at Newcastle.

Why this is is a different matter all together.
The times they are a changin'.

Also fair to say Carroll looks befuddled (who put that word in my head ) when Suarez is twisting the same man for the 93rd time before finally getting tackled or the goalie having finished his cup of tea and ready to catch the eventual cross.
      One tit for another.

This is the point I've been trying to make about Suarez being difficult to play with as well as against. If Carroll (or anyone) assumes Suarez is going to beat his man once and put a ball in, he (Carroll or whoever) will make a run expecting the ball to be played, if Suarez then decides to beat his man twice then put a ball in, Carroll (or whoever) will be out of position because they made the run too early and the ball will likely be behind them.

It will IMO take alot longer for someone to form a partnership with Suarez than with an more predictable striker. That's part of why I'd like to see Carroll given a run of games to develop some kin dof understanding.

What Kenny does with Carroll when Suarez is out should be fairly instructive - unless he starts him for basically all those games we can assume that he's not really showing anything in training either. I feel sorry for Carroll now but I didn't a while back - I think his demeanour has changed from acting like a guy who thought he was the dog's bollocks worth the £35m (and I definitely remember him appearing this way late last season and maybe early this one) whereas now he looks like a very lost and beaten young fella. He has a lot to overcome - overconfidence about his size/strength,, leaving. Newcastle when he clearly didn't really want to,, the pressure of his fee and what LF expects, a natural proclivity for getting epically ******ed.... He needs time he probably doesn't have.

If Suarez ban is upheld I think we'll have no option but to play Carroll more or less every game (unless we sign another striker in January).

It's like you want to make the people who have patience feel bad or something for having a virtue that is all too rare in life. its nothing to do with him being english, personally I know he has some great attributes but for whatever reason he isn't showing it. I feel sorry for the lad and hate to see him struggling so much.

if he fails, it doesn't mean he's ****, there's plenty of players over the years who couldn't handle the pressure of big money moves, for whatever reason things don't work out. I don't know if he's mentally strong enough. But I do know that the fans need to support the bloke if he has any chance of coming good.
              Patience??

He cost THIRTY FIVE MILLION QUID (YEP £35 MILLION).

For that cash I don't expect to have to wait more than a year for him to demonstrate he is even remotely adequate at the basics of football.

Watch him go to Spurs and bag a bucketload of goals.

no mate he wasnt but it looks like you have been.

im surprised that you dont find it odd that a top grade footballers seen drinking red bull a caffeine drink on the bench during a game.

ive been watching football for yonks and ive never seen a player do that during a match. it happens on sunday mornings regularly but none of those guys are playing for one of the biggest teams in the world earning over 60k a week for the privilege.

theres a big difference between an isotonic sports drink and red bull.

Jesus Christ, this world has gone ****ing mad, man can't even drink a ****ing Red Bull any more. LoL, un-****ing-believable. Where have the men gone? Has Arsene's fancy-chicken-and-diet-culture ruined a man's game? What's next? I see players chewing gum whilst playing, Yakubu, loadsa players do it. They could potentially be on the wrong end, gum goes into the windpipe, help doesn't arrive quick enough, they choke to death on the field. And I thought I was German, ****in ell...

Well you are just renowned for showing patience

Kenny hadnt even been appointed interim manager before you started slagging him off

Well we've also seen Suarez drinking his South American herbal mixture before games so maybe we should also slag him off as well

hows a herbal tea similar to red bull.

I might be in a minority in thinking this wierd but that doesnt necessarily make me wrong. has anyone else ever seen another player drinking red bull on the bench or during a game because I havent.

that might be the reason I think its unprofessional because ive never seen it happen before.

medically speaking and im not qualified to say it but doesnt red bull raise your heartbeat so that the body draws in more oxygen. some of these players heartbeats may already be in excess of 200 beats per minute at full pelt so why would you want to raise that even higher. it sounds dangerous.
