If he's banned it does mean he's been found guilty. I would imagine that if the club think that the verdict is wrong they will take it further.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postdoes it? we all think we know what he's supposed to have said. I have no doubt whatever he said wasn't racially motivated. But if the panel think differently and find him guilty, it doesn't mean he is though. its their opinion. to be honest there's only one man on the planet who would know for sure and that is luis.
If he is found guilty he'll be in for a rough ride from opposition fans, pundits and the media. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If you pay a record £35m for a player, he's expected to deliver.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWhy's that then? Enlighten me.
As an example see Torres, if he was a free transfer expectations wouldn't be as high.
Why didn't Voronin get scrutinised like Carroll? Simple, because he was a freebie.

And that's Carroll's fault how? I think any player is expected to deliver when we sign him. Kenny doesnt sign a player if he expects him to not deliver.Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostIf you pay a record £35m for a player, he's expected to deliver.

It's quite simple, if a player plays well, he's judged as a success, if he doesnt, he's not. Price has ****-all to do with anything, apart from people who will treat the same level of performance differently because one player cost more than another.

True, but if he's found guilty it will get worse IMOOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostHe gets rough treatment from opposition fans, pundits, media and refs as it is.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Refs are already giving opponents a wide lattitude to foul Suarez because of his perceived reputation as somebody who isn't entirely honest, and a formal verdict will do nothing but make matters worse. He'll start off as the bad guy in any incident/controversy and it has the potential to be very damaging over the long-term.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostTrue, but if he's found guilty it will get worse IMO

He is only 22 still so I think another season or two will be the deciding factor. I don't think selling him the next chance we get would be a good idea. How about we signed a clinical striker and sent him out on loan to a decent PL side who would guarantee first team football? Seems more sensible rather than him sitting on the bench.

Unfortunately at this present time Carroll does not fit into our system; however, I think it is a little early to write him off completely.
He will always offer something different to most strikers owing to his size and heading ability.
I feel he could be a real asset in Europe should we get back as European teams rarely play against that type of player and struggle. Look at how well Crouch did for us in Europe and how well Stoke are doing this year.

He could turn into a very useful player for us, a player that will give us a different options but I'm not sure that he has enough in his game to take us to where we want to go and be the player that we can rely on game in and game out.
Personally I don't see him as a starter (pass and move style of football doesn't play to his strenghts) but I'd like to keep him.
The problem is clearly his price tag, I am afraid that if he doesn't start playing well, when given the chance to impress, and producing soon he may not be around for a long time.
Given his age and the fact that he's English he can still fetch some decent money and I think we will give him up to 18 months to see if he can cut it with us.
I only hope that he can step up as Kenny and others believed in him.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Just because there may be some numpties who judge him on the price, i dont think Kenny will. In fact, it was Kenny who quite rightly stated that the price is irrelevant. If Carroll goes it'll be because Kenny doesnt think he's right for the club, not because of his price tag.

I don't know how many times Dalglish has to say that in interviews.
