It really baffles me how, after a good and comfortable away win (where Carroll's played about 20 minutes, during which we dropped back into 2nd gear and hardly bothered trying to break a sweat) people's instinct is to come onto this thread and slag him off/write him off etc. Really really odd.

He has had 11 months.

I agree with Chris, there are some teams he'll do well with, but he has not got enough to his game to play for a top team.

He's not had that much game time though, a total game time of about 5 games last season and his total game time this season is about 10.5 games.

That's not much to judge him on. If he'd been playing close to 90mins a game for 11 months that would be different but he's not even close to that.

Maybe not the end of the world but not good if it's anything to do with the racism case he's caught up in at the moment.

A ban would mean he's guilty therefore he would be a huge target for abuse.

I can't see any good coming from a scenario like that tbh.

Ridiculous to suggest that being found guilty of racially abusing another player and having to put up with all the attendant fallout would in some way be mitigated by the fact that Suarez would be given a rest.

does it? we all think we know what he's supposed to have said. I have no doubt whatever he said wasn't racially motivated. But if the panel think differently and find him guilty, it doesn't mean he is though. its their opinion. to be honest there's only one man on the planet who would know for sure and that is luis.

Where have i said people cant post their opinions and voice their thoughts? I just think it's ****ing ludicrous that the first thing someone wants to do after a win, is post criticism of Carroll.

I also think it's ridiculous how some posters can post news and think that, despite the fact that said news broke about a week earlier, others wont have heard it
