In other words I think you might be being unfair.

I wonder how many of those slagging off recent signings were supporting Lucas in his early days at LFC. My guess is not many.

To build on your conclusion, in other words don't learn from past mistakes.

On the otherhand, if we'd had a better player while Lucas was playing mostly quite badly, maybe we would have won more games, even the league. Who knows? Plenty of players have matured in to top players having been sold by utd, but i guess utd didn't feel that they couldn't wait for the development to happen in their first team.

As we don't have their money, we probably do need to follow a more patient approach, but there are also limits.

But was he playing quite badly? Did he not come in for a lot of unjust criticism? Or was it like some of the discussion above, self appointed Internet critics knowing better than the manager.

Yes, he was imo. He was certainly more limited than now. The Kop certainly seem to think so, as well as many on the Internet and elsewhere.

Well if he was in your opinion that must be the end of the discussion then. Unless of course you could have been wrong.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I never thought he was bad, he wasn't great but he came in for a ridiculous amount of criticism especially over things that were demonstrably false.

Who else's opinion is he meant to give then?

You're saying to him "Well if it's true in your opinion, then that must be end of discussion" - well of course he's expressing his own opinion. Who else's is he supposed to express?

And the degenerating of his opinion was really unnecessary IMO opinion.

F*ck, it's a bloody good job we won yesterday. Imagine how bad tempered this place would be if we had lost.

We'd probably have blown up the internet by now. Repeatedly.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yeah sorry Craig this falls neatly into your already bloated "Totally Pointless Boring Debate" dossier

This is the worst Andy Carroll thread ever.
