Much better movement today from Carroll, he really needs to work on his control though.

I used to say he was a good player but maybe do better in a different country where you would get more time on the ball, glad to of been proved wrong though

a positive performance from Carroll today, not his best performance but he got the goal and showed more great link-up play with suarez, if those two continue to forge a strong partnership we will be infinitely more threatening in front of goal. i've forgotten who was commenting but i remmeber one of them saying in the first half that it wasnt a partnership that worked both ways, in that suarez was always the one providing for andy, but he proved them wrong, several times carroll tried to slot suarez through only for luis to be very marginally offside. Suarezs assist to carroll was magical as well, so i think this was the most pleasing thing to take out of the game.

Carroll is a player who can have an average 70 or 80 minutes and then pop up with the winner out of nowhere and thats an important attribute to have.

Thought he's actually played much better for us this season and got no reward. This time he got his goal & I'm made up him. Only in the team cause of Gerrard being pulled out late too.

Suarez & Carroll are looking better every game they play together, hope they play again next week.

Delighted for Carroll today, he worked his balls off and is clearly displaying more intelligence in his movement. Developing a nice partnership and understanding with Suarez too and the goal is a bonus.

I hope people get off his back, he's had ridiculous levels of criticism and it's been somewhat embarrassing the way people have been having a pop at him.

yes I think we're doing that, he was good yesterday worked hard and there were some good moments with Suarez and Carroll linking up well together which was a real positive.

Took his goal well and was unlucky on other occasions, still needs to work on things but he's getting better for us.

Much improved, great to see him grafting and getting a goal.

just needs a run of playing together with luis now
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

Hopefully we can put to bed the argument that Carroll disrupts our fast fluent passing style. In our first 11 with Gerrard back we need to keep Andy up front with Suarez pushing to the left of the 3. With lots of obvious interchanging going on so defenders don't know who's going to turn up where.

Him and Suarez linked up well yesterday, and he looked more like the Carroll at Newcastle
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wasn't particularly impressed with his first half display tbh. Second was much better.

Delighted he got the goal, but more pleased with his overall performance. He came out on top in the battle with Oslson, drawing a yellow card for the defender which took the sting out him. The team is still learning how to play to his strengths and get the best out him, but there are good signs of progression. I just hope Kenny sticks with him for the next game and doesn't bench him like after his decent performance against Everton.

I'm watching the first half now thanks to Mostar's dailymotion link. All I can see so far is long balls to Carroll's head and little else link up or service from the wide men.
