Still not sold on Carroll. His hold up play is improving but his first touch lets him down time and again. And Dirk gets criticised for it.
    Are we winning?

Yeah, Andy has never had any criticism. Not sure what your point is there!

That people have to get over him being criticised. We'd all love him to prove us wrong.

I'm not entirely convinced of that.

Why wouldn't that be the case?

He has the long way to go but first 25 minutes of 2nd half looked promising.

Few more goals in sequence would help his confidence tremendously.

I dunno, but you get the feeling some are keen to say 'i told you so', more than to be proved wrong.

The main thing is that he is working much harder now, showing the desire to improve. We all know he has it in him to be a good striker but at the start of the season we weren't seeing that determination he had at Newcastle. He looked lazy and not all that bothered. He is now looking like a player who is determined to work hard and get better. As long as he gives 100% every week I am confident Andy will be a success here.

I definitely think it's unfair that Dirk get's criticized for Andy's poor first touch. I know as fans we can be illogical at times, but that's just taking the piss

I think that's one of those irregular verbs:

I'd be happy if [player X] proves me wrong

You'd be willing to admit you made a mistake

He just wants to say 'I told you so'

In other words I think you might be being unfair.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
