If he's playing **** i have no problem with it, so long as it does'nt get personal.

However if they are calling him a '****' signing...end of, well...it's far too early for that.

Although, i do agree that while his form is poor, or he's not getting games, he would feel far better about himself if the fans were showing him vocal support.

the problem there is Berbatov is 10 years older than carroll and has a good scoring record for them. there is no comparison at all

There is a place in the squad for him, no doubt. He'll be confined to the bench quite a lot as he has plenty of learning to do.

It's not that people are saying "He's playing ****" etc, certain people are just labelling him **** full stop, giving up on him, completely uninterested in the propsect that he will get better and settle in properly, given time.

I see. Don't see how anyone could know that for sure tbh, so it's a daft approach to take imo.

Obviously we all have slight worries about him and the impression he's made so far, how could we not..we're human after all, but it's a huge leap imo to say he'll NEVER come good.

He WILL show us he's not just another James Beatty!

I think thats the reality of the situation, many people didnt want him and had pre-judged him so they are quick to say told you so.

Of course he hasnt done well since he arrived but then I think there are plenty of factors including the fee, fitness, missing home etc.

I dont worry about his ability to score funnily enough, I think some of the things thrown at him in this thread are laughable, He is a ****ing beast in the air when he is on form and he has a great movement to ....My major worry is his lack of ball control

People ruling out Carroll don't see the bigger picture IMO. We aren't winning anything with a line up of Suarez as a lone striker, not even with Gerrard behind him. If we want any chance of progression, we need to integrate Carroll into the team set up. Suarez is not a finisher, our football might look better without Carroll right now but it's not because of Carroll, it's the way we utilize him. Think Kenny's got one thing wrong about Carroll and that's the area he operates in. Carroll needs to sit on the opposition's line of defence and Suarez needs to play the Rooney role. It ends up being the opposite with Suarez playing as an out and out striker and Carroll sitting back and trying to link up play. Suarez' been sitting far too high up the pitch for my liking.

On his movement, Carroll doesn't need to move more, he needs to move less and let the game come to him when it counts. Him running the flanks and dropping to the halfway line up to receive the ball contributes nothing to our game, and it stems from our inability to supply him with quality delivery where he's dangerous (ask yourself this, when was the last time Carroll actually got a quality ball in the box?).

He'll be much more effective when he realizes that he needs to sit right on top of the opposition even if it means he'll look "lazy". We need him in the box, and as long as he tries to be someone he's not and forces the game to come to him, it won't work.
