I think Cream means that when Suarez & Carroll play together ala west brom, Carroll has been the one that drops off and seems to play behind suarez. the second half on saturday he did it quite often. that for me does not equate to him playing the 'gerrard' role but I can see where he's coming from.

I do think that Carroll was closer in the box than Suarez though, it's just that Suarez is everywhere. I looked at the Guardian Chalkboard thingy, and Suarez' passing was pretty evenly distributed all over the opponents half.

Carroll has been left out, Glen Johnson is in the squad as is Stewart Downing
