Andy looked so awkward apart from that header against the bar. That's the Andy Carroll we bought and want. Gerrard has the ability to play to others strengths (Owen, Torres), it's no surprise they were as good as they were whilst playing with Stevie, Carroll will benefit too.

Well it would do, because i dont consider you a genuine supporter. Typical Sky-generation, wants everything instantly, no patience 'fan'. Everything's 'appalling' or 'shocking'. Go and say it on the Kop. But you wont of course. Doesnt really touch the sides.

I think Downing should play on the left. His delivery will improve surely.

I don't get Downing on the right, Messi is pretty much only one that it really works for, and well let;s not even try and compare the two.

IMO as i've said previously, left or right Downing is not the answer, another stop gap winger IMO. People can lambast for writing player off but i just don't see it with him, never did even before he joined lfc.

Downing should try side foot a shot instead of blasting it every time. I think he had three goes at goal and one timid enough one was on target, the other two flew over, oh and the long ranger at the end which he did side foot.

He does have merit in the side, the carries the ball forward, stretches defenses and keeps possession well. He looks pretty clueless sometimes but he should have a few goals and assists at this stage. Newcastle had to take Taylor off at half time because Downing and Johnson where putting him under serious pressure and on a yellow.

Downing on the left would surely help get the best out of Carroll.

He does create problems to teams with his direct running with the ball. He's a threat. To say that he does **** all is ludicrous.

IMO i agree better on the left but ya can't really say that on here as some people will say "Kenny knows more than you"

To be fair though Enrique/Bellamy combo has looked fantasic ad dynamic, Enrique /Maxi pretty good too.

Persoally i'd like to see:

Enrique/Bellamy on left
Johnson /Maxi on right

Just my opinion.
