Thanjk you.

Steven Gerrard is going to get Carroll firing if he keeps hitting him with kind of passes he gave him tonight.
I think the same.
I think that part of the problem with Carroll is that it's not always clear when other players are going to deliver balls into the box and where they were going to put them. Gerrard delivered good quality balls into good areas and Carroll was looking more promising. He's clearly lacking in confidence as the through ball to him showed but get some crosses on to his head and get a couple of goals and that will boost his confidence significantly
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
That's how I feel as well, ok so he did mess up that first touch (btw nice work by Downing there to get him onside), but other than that he got into dangerous positions, he showed some hunger, worked hard, only to be denied by the ****in woodwork again. He'll get there in the next few matches
If we beat Man City 3-0 and Carroll scored all 3 and Downing set them all up people will still find a way that they are all ****e.
Okay, maybe that's ott but I think both Carroll and Downing had a pretty decent game tonight, Downing showed more drive and ambition and beat his defender on several occasions, I think like Carroll his problem is a confidence issue. One he went past Taylor once he tried it over and over again and had quite a high success rate, the only problem was his final product, but everyone except Gerrard and probably Bellamy has had a poor time of crossing this season.
Was impressed with Carroll, linked up with play well and came very close to getting himself a goal, its obvious that he just needs better delivery. His first touch has always been an issue for me though, very heavy even in non-pressure situations, when Gerrard put that ball through to him I was angry but not shocked that he miscontrolled it, he also needs to stop dropping so deep! the few times we did get good crosses in he was at the edge of the box, sometimes even walking!
Encouraging signs though and hopefully both players can only build on what theyve done so far.
We threw nothing of merit at Carroll until Gerrard came on. The first ball in was a cracker, Andy probably couldn't believe it. It was a terrible touch, but it got the big man interested. Next ball in was all his and unlucky to hit the bar. Carroll BADLY needs a run of games and a run of games when we give him service. There is a good player in there if we can unwrap him and from the looks of things Gerrard has the know how to do it.
