He's also got an amazing delivery but he's feeling the pressure here at the moment. I just want him to be told 'look, you're our set piece specialist and you're taking them all'.Originally posted by Alex View PostThats because he was there best player. Id rather Gerrard took them all when he was on anyway.
Wouldn't mind seeing Gerrard in the box either.

He's a fan of Carroll because neither of them are ever at fault for anything - ever. It's everyone else's fault.
I just dont see how you can say Carroll got good service last night
Its irrelevant that those players who failed to deliver last night are capable of crossing a ball
Pepe Reina is capable of saving shots like that from Aguero but he didnt do it last night either
Still its fundamentally clear that you cannot in ANY way be objective about CarrollBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Don't worry. I will leave the site again and return in a few weeks. I just saw what happens time after time when Lec is involved and he is still get away with it.Originally posted by Alex View PostWhats the point in provoking stuff Arn? Let it be.
It is never his fault...... but it is strange that he is involved in almost every fight. A coincidence?
The day Lec admits he got something wrong that is the day everyone will stand up and
Instead the usual thing happens. He attacks the poster and starts to call him names. The pictures will soon follow, the so called ironic ones.
See you in a few weeks time or maybe not.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Carroll has been on the end of some crosses he should have put away (Gerrards V Newcastle and Downing V Swansea/Norwich spring to mind) hes also failed to get in positions at times
However last night there was not one occasion barring Enrique when the delivery was of a good enough qualityBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Cool. Once we sort out our crossing Andy will start banging them in. Cool.Originally posted by Lecter View PostAre you actually reading my posts or are you just using the force to pluck out random comments from the ether?

I'm not quite sure what more fans want from Carroll, in the last 3 games he has worked hard, held the ball up, brought others into play, generally occupied 2 defenders all the while feeding of no service that suits him whatsoever.
Yes he hasn't scored but he has been unlucky, against Blackburn and Newcastle especially.
There isn't ever another player close to him to feed off his knock downs or use the space he creates which is what Kevin Nolan did really well at Newcastle.
At the moment teams find it easier to defend against Carroll because the service is generally poor and there is no-one else in or around the box for them to worry about.
Carroll pulling onto the full back, winning far post headers either at goal or back across (like for Kuyt last night) should be happening 5-6 times a half, not once a game.
For all our nice pretty pretty football (with or without Carroll in the team) the reason we don't score enough goals is because we never have anyone in the bloody box.
The stats look good because Charlie Adam smashes 4 a game into the crowd from 30 yards. In fact Charlie Adam is the new John Arne Riise, flashes of quality drowned under a weight of mediocracy and expectation. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I'd include Enrique. I couldn't believe people were including him in their MoM nominations.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostIt's alright, I'll name them for you: Downing, Kuyt, Adam and Reina
As for the better performances, only Agger and Henderson definitely qualify for me. Spearing probably does and Johnson and Skrtel have a case too.

I'm willing to consider it, Bald Eagle, but we need someone to step down from what has become a horribly bloated mod team.Originally posted by Reece View PostNot my decision I'm afraid. You need to speak to the top dog.
Thanks for the PM nominating [name withheld for reasons of notional security] - that particular mod has been underperforming for some time and disciplinary action is imminent.
But it's the internet. Everyone's opinion is better than everyone else's and all must argue themselves to death over the tiniest point of difference.Originally posted by Reece View PostIt would be nice if people were for once able to see the middle ground and agree

However one things for certain if you dont improve the crossing (from last nights level) he'll have no chance of scoringBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Carroll has improved over the last few games but the service he's received has been poor (apart from Gerrard against Newcastle).
However he should still be able to create things for himself - remember the goal he scored against us last season? I want to see more of that from him and getting involved more in our build up play. Having long range efforts as he's got a good shot on him.
