Some great 'supporters' showing their true colours on this thread

So much for "When you walk through a storm...."

Sorry Andy, but for some, it seems you'll always walk alone...

      Seems like he CAN score!

Jemaine: Are you and Lisa gonna get married now? Bret: I wish, but I don't know. She's got to go to war. Jemaine: What? Bret: Yeah, Iraq. Jemaine: Iraq? Bret:Yeah. Jemaine: Lisa? Bret: She's in Delta Force. She's been deployed to Fallujah. Jemaine: But she works in the croissant shop. Bret: Yeah well, she's got two jobs. She's a pastry chef and a sniper.

We'll have Carroll back in Jan on loan if you don't want him.

Not if he's gonna do any of that **** mind !

Just post the page URL without any of the &feature stuff and it embeds.

There not much to gain for us from a loan unless we've given up an want him to up his value by playing week in week out. Actually, even that might backfire. Can't see it happening.

Shades of grey though Craig, it isn't all black and white for all of us (although it might be for the geordie #9...)

I really want him to do well, but the longer it goes on, the worse it seems to get. We haven't accommodated him in the side at all. The LFC style of football doesn't suit his (slightly more rudimentary) assets. Some signings aren't going to work, and it looks like the £85m worth of deals between us, Chelsea and Toon are never going to work out.

There was a question earlier on - can you support but dislike at the same time? Well, for me maybe dislike is a bit strong, but I can be disappointed with the transfer, what he's produced and the complete lack of progress, while still wanting him to score goals and do well for the club.

My £10 on Andy Carroll being top scorer in the PL is looking a little dubious .

Sit him on the bench a couple of games see if he gets the fire in his belly, if not sit him there longer.

someone mentioned earlier that they had seen tears in his eyes after he was subbed?

i couldn't find anything about that, but i did find this:

Ex-Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder reveals £35m Andy Carroll was a Tooncrier

Feb 6 2011 by Alan Oliver, The People
Liverpool's new signing Andy Carroll with manager Kenny Dalglish

BRITISH record signing Andy Carroll was reduced to TEARS by a couple of tough-nut defenders during his early days at Newcastle.

Carroll had to work hard for his first team debut in a UEFA Cup tie at Palermo in 2006 – and that included some rough and ready treatment on the training field.

Former Toon boss Glenn Roeder, who gave Carroll his big chance, said: “It certainly wasn’t all plain sailing for Andy.

“When he first appeared on the scene he was a tall skinny kid and his co-ordination was all over the place.

‘‘He reminded me of a giraffe! Two of the older lads, David Edgar and Paul Huntingdon, gave Andy a bit of a rough time at training and he used to well up – there were tears in his eyes.

“But Andy coped well and turned himself into the tough guy and the player he is today. His rise has been nothing short of meteroic.’’

And that is something Newcastle No.2 John Carver will be proud of. Now in his second spell at St James’ Park, Carver was the director of the Newcastle academy when he first met the tall, skinny kid from Gateshead.

A Newcastle source told People Sport: “When Andy first came here he was a left-back. But JC and fellow Academy man Jimmy Nelson saw him more as a centre-forward. That’s why Newcastle are £35m better off today.”
it could be he's emotionally not ready to play matches for us yet. maybe the best thing we can do is bring in a striker for now, and allow him time to develop outside the spotlight. if carroll disappears from view for a year or two and returns in rude health, that'll do me just fine.

I think he means taking him out of the line of fire, relieving pressure by bringing in a more established and prolific striker, allowing him to grow as a footballer without the full weight of expectation of Liverpool fans for him to lead the line alone. An acclimatisation period if you will, facilitated by the above. Like we did with N'gog. Oh.

The excuses and attempts to rationalise Carroll's ****ness are getting beyond a joke now. Andy's been here 10 months and here are the excuses in order :

                            Needs match fitness
Was signed for 5 years not 5 months. Needs time.
We need to change our style of play to suit him
                            He needs ammunition
Hasn't gelled with his team mates
                            Needs match fitness
Him and Downing are not on the same wave length yet
                            Needs a run of games
                            Still hasn't settled yet
The fans are not giving him enough support and that is why he's ****.

                            Have I missed any ?
